Calendar of upcoming events for the week of Aug. 4

Thursday, August 4

• The VFW Auxiliary Bingo Night will be held at 7 p.m. at 475 Arran road in Crawfordville. There will be concessions and raffles.

• Publix at Crawfordville Commons grand opening.

Saturday, August 6

• Drive-thru backpack giveawaywill be held at the community center in Crawfordville from 9 a.m. to noon.

• Candidate meet-and-greet will be held at the community center from 3 to 5 p.m.

Monday, August 8

• The Wakulla Respite program will be available for anyone with memory impairment at no cost from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lake Ellen Baptist Church.

• The Planning Commission meets in the commission chambers at 6 p.m.

• The Sopchoppy City Commission meeting will be held at Sopchoppy City Hall at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday, August 10

• An Intermediate Line Dance class will be held at 1 p.m. at the Senior Center.

Thursday, August 11

• FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL for students of Wakulla Public Schools. It is an early release day.

• Sopchoppy Depot Committee meeting at the Depot, 34 Railroad Ave., at 4:30 p.m.
