Catching catfish in St. Marks
Imani Wilson fishing in St. Marks

Imani Wilson of Tallahasse often visits Wakulla and Franklin counties to take advantage of fresh caught fish. She was recently fishing at the pier at the Wakulla River Park in St. Marks. She says she likes fishing with several poles, she had three hooks in the water and pulled in this catfish.
Her grandparents were hoping for fresh fried catfish for dinner that day so she headed down toward the coast to catch some for them. She said that she liked this spot because if you catch the tide just right you may catch some reds, catfish, or maybe flounder because of the combination of salt and fresh water, and depending on whether the tide is coming in or going out. Extended family could sit under the pavilion at the picnic tables and children have a grassy area to run around while she enjoyed fishing off the pier.
