This report is for activity Feb. 9th to 15th:
FRIDAY, FEB. 9
- Deputy Edwin Grove responded to Helena St. and made contact with Jacqueline Gajus, who stated an unknown subject entered her driveway and punctured/flattened the rear tires on her vehicle. The damage caused was estimated at $400. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
- Bruce Thiessen had a fire going in the fireplace when it suddenly got out of control. Fire personnel were able to save the home and damages were estimated at approximately $50,000. Deputy Dakota Haddock investigated.
SATURDAY, FEB. 10
- Deputy Heather Will responded to Commodore Place and made contact with John Hinsey, who stated someone has been using his debit card information to purchase groceries via Instacart. Hinsey was able to provide a possible suspect in this case. Hinsey signed an Affidavit for Prosecution. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
- A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle due to the registered owner having an active warrant. Upon approaching the vehicle, the odor of marijuana was emanating from the vehicle. The driver, Garrett Cardin, was placed under arrest after methamphetamine, marijuana, methadone and paraphernalia was located inside the vehicle. Deputy Anthony Paul investigated.
- Deputies responded to Whirlwind Trail and made contact with Marvin Miller, who stated Asia Copeland was on his property and refusing to leave. Deputies advised Copeland to leave and she refused. Deputies were attempting to escort her off the premises when she jerked away, taking a stance as if she was going to fight. Copeland was subsequently placed under arrest for resisting arrest. Deputy Heather Will investigated.
SUNDAY, FEB. 11
- A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle being operated by Angela Bailey, who is known to not have a valid driver’s license which was confirmed by Communications. Bailey was placed under arrest and transported to the jail facility without incident. Deputy Austin Rivers investigated.
- A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for faulty equipment. The driver was identified as Lisa Wells. She did not have a valid license and has three prior convictions. Wells was placed under arrest and transported to the jail facility. Deputy Dakota Haddock investigated.
MONDAY, FEB. 12
- Deputy Austin Rivers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no trailer lights. Deputy Rivers made contact with the driver and sole occupant Kenneth Bryan, who advised he had weapons in the vehicle upon contact. Wakulla Communication operators advised Bryan had a suspended license with two prior convictions. Deputy Rivers was also advised Bryan has three active domestic violence injunctions against him. All three prohibit him from owning firearms. Kenneth was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended ro revoked (DWLSR) and violation of court order injunction. While seizing the firearms, two grams of marijuana and a metal smoking pipe were located in plain view. The marijuana was seized for destruction. The vehicle and trailer were turned over to a licensed driver.
- Deputy Zac Munroe and Deputy Todd Kent responded to the area of Hickorywood Drive in reference to a suspicious person. The complainant advised an intoxicated male walked on her property and was refusing to leave. Contact was made with the male, identified as John Brenkus. He was intoxicated and uncooperative with deputies. Brenkus was placed under arrest due to his drunken belligerence. During a search of his persons, a rolled-up piece of paper containing 0.2 grams of crack cocaine was located in his wallet. John was transported to the jail without incident.
TUESDAY, FEB. 13
- Deputy James Cooper responded to Lynn Circle, in reference to a possible burglary. Upon arrival Deputy Cooper made contact with Kimberly Davis, who said she had been out of town all day and when she returned home, she noticed some things had been moved around. Davis believes somebody might have been in her residence. She advised some lights had been turned on and some bed linens had been moved. There were no signs of forced entry to the residence and nothing was missing. Davis also has a “dog” that was in the residence all day. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
WEDNESDAY, FEB. 14
- Deputies responded to Isle of Paradise in reference to a female with a knife chasing two males. Upon the deputies’ arrivals contact was made with Jessica Carter located outside the residence. Carter was being uncompliant to the deputies on scene. Carter was secured in handcuffs and placed in the back of deputy’s patrol vehicle. Contact was made with John Ellington who locked himself inside a vehicle. Ellington advised he was in fear for his life when Carter was chasing him with a knife. While deputies were speaking with Ellington, some drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view. A probable cause search was conducted of Ellington’s person and belongings. During the search, methamphetamine was located in Ellington’s bag. Both Ellington and Carter were placed under arrest and transported to the Wakulla County jail without incident. Deputies Todd Kent and Zac Munroe investigated.
THURSDAY, FEB. 15
- Deputy Todd Kent responded to Walmart in reference to a theft that had already occurred. Deputy Kent made contact with Asset Protection who provided surveillance video and statements. Asset Protection advised a male and female entered the store and attempted to leave with approximately $90 worth of unpaid items. All items were recovered on-scene by Asset Protection. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
