This report is for activities April 19-25:
FRIDAY, APRIL 19
- James Vernon reported being the victim of a fraud. Vernon advised was communicating with a subject on Facebook for an English Bulldog. Vernon went to Panama City on Monday, April 15 to pick up the dog and agreed to meet at a certain address. After arriving, Vernon realized the people he was communicating with did not reside there and he had been scammed. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation. Lt. Gibby Gibson investigated.
SATURDAY, APRIL 20
- Deputy Payden Surrette made contact with Jamar, a FedEx driver. Jaymar stated he was in an argument with Andrew Carter, who claimed Jamar was speeding on Danly Grade, where he resides, so he confronted Jamar. Jamar wished the incident be documented for his employer.
- Deputy Payden Surrette responded to Marie Circle and made contact with Christopher Garrett, who stated someone broke a picket on his fence, causing $2 in damage. There was no evidence or suspects identified in this case.
SUNDAY, APRIL 21
- Deputy Payden Surrette responded to Tractor Supply in reference to a rented trailer which was never returned. A suspect has been identified and this case has been submitted to the State Attorney’s Office for a warrant request.
- Eric Bukes called in stating an unknown white male driving a navy blue Volkswagen intentionally rammed the rear of his vehicle after a road rage incident. After he damaged Buke’s vehicle, the suspect’s vehicle fled northbound on Woodville Highway. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
MONDAY, APRIL 22
- Deputy Ernesto Trujillo responded to Lake Avenue in reference a possible fraud. Upon arrival Deputy Trujillo made contact with Jane Rodgers, who advised she befriended someone over the internet and has been conversing with him for months. Lately the suspect has been asking her for money. Rodgers believes she has been swindled by the suspect. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
TUESDAY, APRIL 23
- Deputy Arturo Cordoba responded to the front lobby of the sheriff’s office in reference to a walk-in complaint. Upon arrival the deputy made contact with Amanda McKenzie, who advised she attempted to buy a dachshund puppy off Facebook. McKenzie said after she sent the money, she has not been able to contact the person and the ad has been removed. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
- Deputy Kory Smith conducted a traffic stop at 84 Ochlocknee Street, in reference to tag attached not assigned. Upon further investigation the driver, Geoffrey Grove, was found to have an invalid driver’s license. Grove was placed under arrest and transported to the Wakulla County Jail.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24
- A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle Dewayne Greene was operating due to a faulty headlight. It was discovered Greene did not have a valid license, with four prior convictions. Greene was placed under arrest and transported to the jail without incident. Deputy Anthony Paul investigated.
THURSDAY, APRIL 25
- Jason Pack was discovered intoxicated, acting out, and stealing merchandise while at Walmart. Pack was placed under arrest and transported to the jail facility. Deputy Zac Monroe investigated.
- Deputies Nick Gray and Anthony Paul along with Lt. David Pienta responded to Pine Lane in reference a family disturbance between Flint McKinney and others. Investigation revealed Flint was in possession of 12.9 grams of fentanyl. Flint was arrested on scene.
