FRIDAY, NOV. 1
- Deputy Bennett responded to the Sheriff’s Office lobby in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, Deputy Bennett met with a citizen reporting her 15-year-old granddaughter lost her cellphone while at Walmart. The phone was tracked on an app, Life 360, to an address in Franklin County. Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the location and retrieved the phone which was returned to the owner. Investigation continuing.
- Deputy Trujillo arrested John Grant for Driving While License Suspended/Revoked 3rd subsequent violation on Coastal Highway in Crawfordville. Grant was taken into custody and transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
- A complainant on Beeler Road reported an unauthorized charge against her bank account back in July to Deputy Munroe. There was a charge of $739.89 made at a Walmart in Maryland. The report was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
- Deputy Godwin served two warrants on Absconded Registered Sexual Offender Brian Jermaine Evans, for Failure to Report a Change of Address (a Sex Offender Violation), Failure to Register Changes of Employment (a Sex Offender Violation), and Failure to Appear [original charge Failure of Sex Offender to Report]. Detectives obtained arrest warrants on Evans after learning he had moved from his registered address and failed to register his new address. Furthermore, Evans had also failed to comply with his obligation to report new employment. [NOTE: Evans was previously convicted of violating the Sexual Offender registration laws on Nov. 7, 2019.] Evans was booked into the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
- Deputy Godwin served a warrant for Petit Theft on Javion Dye at the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
SATURDAY, NOV. 2
- Deputy Sullivan responded to the front lobby of the Sheriff’s Office and met with a complainant in reference to a theft from her Honda SUV parked at the roundabout of Wakulla Arran and Cajer Posey during trick-or-treating on Halloween, Oct. 31. Complainant reported her wallet containing her driver’s license, a water bottle, and her Florida tag were stolen.
- Deputy Sullivan responded to a residence on Richardson Road and made contact with a resident reporting a neighbor observed a male in her backyard, and a vehicle leaving the scene. Several strands of copper wire were taken from the outside of the residence. The case has been forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
- Deputy Rivers responded to a residence on Homan Point Avenue and made contact with a citizen reporting someone had smashed her car windows causing over $3,000 in damage. Crime Scene processed the vehicle for evidentiary leads. Case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
- Deputy Sullivan responded to a residence on Short Line Street and made contact with a resident reporting someone breaking into his vehicle and popping the ignition open. The subjects fled when the resident walked outside. Case forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
- Deputy Surrette met up at the county line with a Leon County Sheriff’s Deputy and took custody of Dewayne Sanders who had an active warrant out of our agency for violation of probation [original charges of Sell/Manufacture/Distribute Methamphetamine]. The subject was transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
- A resident on Elizabeth Street reported to Deputy Godwin that his vehicle had been burglarized and a firearm was stolen. The firearm is valued at approximately $400. Case has been forward to the Criminal Investigations Division.
- Complainant reported a criminal mischief to the air conditioning units of a business located at 2581 Crawfordville Highway. Deputy Post investigated.
- Deputy Post investigated a theft of dogs from a location on Woodville Highway by a person known to the complainant. Complainant reported the business associate sold a litter of puppies and his own dogs without his permission. The dogs were located in Georgia. Investigation forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
- An assistant manager reported the theft of gas from Murphy USA located at 29 Mike Stewart Drive in Crawfordville. The vehicle in question was located on Crawfordville Highway and a traffic stop was conducted. Management identified a female as responsible for the theft. Contact was made with the passenger of the vehicle identified as Brittany Danielle Young, who was positively identified as the suspect for current theft as well as the theft of gas the prior day. Sgt. Grove arrested Brittany Young and transported her to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
- Lieutenant Gibson arrested Elbert Renardo Mays on Lonnie Raker Lane in Crawfordville for Driving While License Suspended/Revoked with 16 priors. Mays was transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
SUNDAY, NOV. 3
- Deputy Surrette responded to Hickory Park in reference to a suspicious person at the park yelling and talking to himself. Ultimately, Deputy Surrette arrested Daniel Patrick Harrison for possession of synthetic cannabinoid [THC vape pens]. Harrison was transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
- Deputy Rivers arrested Sedrick Rashard Robinson at the Spring Creek/Highway 98 Kangaroo. Sedrick Robinson had an active local warrant for battery-touch or strike. Robinson was transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
- Captain Harrell conducted a traffic stop in the 4100 block of Coastal Highway on a vehicle for excessive speed. The driver and sole occupant was identified as Garley Cambry, who did not have a valid license, and was wanted out of Seminole County. Cambry was placed under arrest and transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
MONDAY, NOV. 4
- Deputy Rivers was dispatched to a residence on Franklin Drive in Crawfordville for a reported vehicle burglary. Complainant reported finding his car door cracked open and his handgun missing. Case has been forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
- Deputy Marshall responded to a vehicle fire along with Wakulla Fire Rescue at 15 Council Moore Road (Wakulla Family Medicine). Fire Rescue extinguished the vehicle fire. Vehicle owner advised she noticed flames coming from the back right side of her vehicle’s exhaust. Total damages were estimated to be around $5,000.
- A resident of Thrasher Lane reported an unknown individual went into her mailbox and opened a letter from with a new debit card inside. The subject left the letter portion and removed the new card. Investigation forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
TUESDAY, NOV. 5
- Deputy Irvin investigated the theft of prescription medication which was supposed to have been delivered by mail on Coastal Highway. Report has been forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 6
- Deputy Godwin arrested Gregory James Newton at the Sheriff’s Office Annex. Newton had an active warrant for two Sex Offender Violations, and was transported to Wakulla County Detention Facility.
THURSDAY, NOV. 7
- Deputy Rivers arrested Nevins Carson Smith on Spring Creek Highway for driving while his license was revoked [three Driving While License Suspended/Revoked convictions]. Smith was arrested and transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
- Deputy Sullivan arrested Stephen Edward Herndon on Woodville Highway for driving with a suspended/revoked license [Herndon had four prior DWLSR convictions]. Herndon was arrested and transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
- Deputy Rivers responded to a vehicle fire along with Wakulla County Fire Rescue. At a residence on Savannah Road. Upon arrival, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. Fire Rescue extinguished the vehicle fire.
