A surprise retirement party was held on Monday, Dec. 19, for Wakulla County Judge Jill Walker, who is retiring at the end of the month after 32 years on the bench. The judge was stunned: she thought she was coming to the courtroom to announce the winner of decorated office doors in the courthouse to find about a dozen circuit and county judges, clerk’s staff, and numerous elected officials applauding her. Walker got tearful as she noted the end of her time on the bench is rapidly nearing.
