Franks brothers to be honored
July 14 will be Jordan and Feleipe Franks Day in Wakulla to honor the brothers, who both played in the NFL

The Franks brothers, Jordan and Felipe, are being honored with July 14 being declared as Jordan and Feleipe Franks Day in Wakulla County.
County Commissioner Mike Kemp proposed the resolution at the county commission meeting on June 19, praising the brothers for pursuing their football dreams.
July 14 is the date the brothers are hosting a free football camp at Wakulla High School from 9 a.m. to noon. Lunch will be provided to participants. (To register go to Eventbrite Franks camp.)
Both were stars playing for the Wakulla War Eagles – Jordan, who is 2 years older, was a receiver; Feleipe was quarterback.
Jordan received an offer from the University of Central Florida and his senior year was the season UCF went undefeated and were declared, at least by the Florida Legislature, as national champs – though Alabama held the official title. He made the Cinncinati Bengals practice squad and, after some team injuries, got playing time in several games. After two years with the Bengals, he was briefly with the Philadelphia Eagles, then the Cleveland Browns, and last year played for the Kansas City Chiefs – and got a Super Bowl ring to show for it. He has now retired from the NFL and is a financial advisor in Kentucky.
Feleipe was a five-star recruit in high school and accepted a scholarship to the University of Florida. (He was also drafted by baseball’s Boston Red Sox, but didn’t pursue it.) He was redshirted his freshman year, and played three seasons with the Gators and transferred to Arkansas as a fifth year senior. As a professional, this will be Feleipe’s third season with the Atlanta Falcons. Last year, Feleipe added a twist, playing tight end.
One notable bit of trivia: the brothers were on teams that won the Peach Bowl in 2018, Jordan with UCF against Auburn in January; and in December, Feleipe was named offensive MVP as the Gators demolished Michigan, 41-15.
Ginger Franks, their mom, said she’s proud of her sons.
Jordan and Feleipe Franks only faced each other’s teams once in the NFL – at a preseason game between the Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons.
