Big Bend Hospice celebrated the opening of their new Franklin County office in Eastpoint earlier this month. Although BBH has been providing end-of-life care for Franklin County residents for over 40 years, having a permanent office in the area provides opportunities to offer additional programs and services.
“Hosting caregiver workshops, bereavement counseling, and Veteran recognition events are just a few ways we intend to use this space,” says Sharon Davidson, Director of Community Engagement for BBH. “Staff will also use this office in between patient visits.”
BBH staff invited the community to an open house on Sept. 7th. Over 30 stakeholders stopped by to learn more about the services available through BBH. In addition to enjoying lunch provided by Chef Gormley, a local favorite, they also received information about the upcoming Dealing with Dementia workshop for caregivers on Oct. 25th and a new volunteer orientation to be held on Nov. 17th. If you would like to learn more about becoming a BBH Volunteer, please contact Kara Walker @ kmwalker@bigbendhospice.org.
