This report is for activity June 21-27:

FRIDAY, JUNE 21

  • Walmart Asset Protection reported an unknown white female passing all points of sale without paying for store merchandise. This incident was captured on store surveillance video on June 20 around 6:19 p.m. The total amount for the items identifiable on video is $136.85. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation. Deputy Matt Hinson investigated.

SATURDAY, JUNE 22

  • Deputy Arturo Cordoba responded to Hickory Park in reference to someone damaging the bathroom facilities. Upon arrival, Deputy Cordoba made contact with Larry Lashley, who advised when he arrived to check the facilities, he observed both bathrooms had damaged sinks and toilets. Larry estimated the damage at $1,500. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
  • Deputy Arturo Cordoba responded to the front lobby of the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a walk-in complaint. Upon arrival Deputy Cordoba made contact with Carolyn Dye, who stated this morning she noticed the passenger side window on her vehicle had shattered. Dye stated she doesn’t know how or who might have broken the window. Dye stated needed the incident documented for insurance purposes only.
  • Raven Sky Harris reported Jessica Marie Flowers aggressively unplugging his 65-inch TV causing it to fall off the wall. Due to the damage caused, Harris agreed to allow Flowers to replace the TV instead of prosecution at the time of this incident. Deputy Shayne Broxie investigated.

SUNDAY, JUNE 23

  • Deputy Kory Smith responded to the pool house at Garden of Saralan subdivision in reference to a trash can on fire. Upon arrival Deputy Smith observed the trash can next to the pool house completely engulfed and some of the soffit melting off of the building. Deputy Smith was able to extinguish the fire prior to Wakulla County Fire Rescue’s arrival on scene. The damage was estimated at around $1,000. The complainant advised she did not see anyone around the pool house when she noticed the fire. The complainant also advised there are video cameras of area around the pool house. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
  • Deputy James Williams responded to 105 McCallister Road in reference to the complainant’s brother Matthew Dickens trespassing at that location. Upon arrival Dep. Williams made contact with Anastasia Askey, who stated Dickens has a permanent trespass warning against him for her residence. Askey had video of her brother on the property. Deputy Williams was able to locate Dickensat 29 Mike Stewart Dr. where he was placed under arrest for criminal trespass and transported to the Wakulla County Jail.
  • Deputy Kory Smith responded to Walmart in reference to a theft that occurred on June 22. Upon arrival Deputy Smith made contact with Walmart Asset Protection, who advised there was video surveillance of a black male taking a television out of the store without paying for it. The video footage was turned over to Deputy Smith. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.

MONDAY, JUNE 24

  • Sandra Hughes reported someone making an unauthorized charge to her bank account in the amount of $100.99. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation. Deputy Zac Monroe investigated.
  • Deputy Anthony Paul conducted a traffic stop for faulty equipment. The driver, Omari Wimberly, was found to have 3.5 grams of marijuana in his possession. The marijuana was seized for destruction. And Wimberly was released from the scene.

TUESDAY, JUNE 25

  • During the middle of the night, deputies responded to the Flower Pot Florist at 2500 Crawfordville Highway in reference a suspicious person. The store owner called in advising she observed a white male (later identified as Shawn Daughtry) trying to open the locked shed behind her business. Daughtry was located and subsequently placed under arrest for loitering and prowling. During an inventory of his property, multiple checks addressed to different individuals and a debit card not belonging to Daughtry were located and seized for detectives to follow up on.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 26

  • Jalicia Terry was arrested for habitual traffic offender driving while license suspended or revoked with knowledge after being stopped for running a stop sign. Terry had six prior arrests for DWLSR and driving with no Florida license. Deputy William Montgomery investigated.

THURSDAY, JUNE 27

  • Helen Barwick reported her son’s bicycle being stolen from the Wakulla County Community Center. The juvenile rode his bicycle up to the Community Center to watch basketball in the gymnasium. After leaving the bicycle outside for nearly an hour when the juvenile went to leave, he noticed his bicycle was missing. Barwick had no serial numbers to identify the bicycle and she could only advise it was purple with a rusted chain. Helen valued the bicycle as $150. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation. Deputy William Bennett investigated.
