This report is for activity July 19 to 25:

FRIDAY, JULY 19

  • Steven Fults reported someone tying the electronic gate open for the entrance of the Tarpine Subdivision. By doing this it caused damage to the operating system of the gate. A possible suspect has been identified. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation. Deputy Norman De Guzman responded.
  • Barbara Scott reported the theft of a pellet rifle she was storing for safekeeping for a friend. Scott advised she last saw the pellet rifle about a month ago and it is no longer in the stored location. A possible suspect has been identified in this case. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation. Deputy Matt Hinson investigated.

SATURDAY, JULY 20

  • Deborah Noe of Nichols & Son Seafood reported an unknown female taking 12 dozen mullet fillets valued at $150. The female was there to purchase blue crabs and convinced employees to load the mullet along with her crabs into a black Chevrolet Equinox. The vehicle left traveling eastbound heading towards Crawfordville. The unknown female purchased the blue crab with cash therefore no debit card transaction took place. Nichols & Son advised they will be installing surveillance cameras in the coming days. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation. Deputy Shayne Broxie investigated.

MONDAY, JULY 22

  • Deputy Payton Surrett responded to Renegade Road in reference to a reported theft. Upon arrival Deputy Surrett was met by Leslie Morris who reported several tools valued at over $10,000 were stolen from her residence. A possible suspect has been identified in this case. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.

TUESDAY, JULY 23

  • Deputy Heather Will observed a vehicle traveling on Spring Creek Highway without a rear bumper, and a traffic stop was initiated. The driver, Amonta Harris, immediately advised Deputy Will that he did not possess a driver’s license. Harris was subsequently arrested for driving while license suspended or revoked (DWLSR) and transported to the Wakulla County Jail.
  • Deputy Dakota Haddock conducted a traffic stop for faulty equipment. A records check revealed the driver, Christopher Knapp, had a driver’s license that had been suspended multiple times. An inventory search of the vehicle during the stop revealed drug paraphernalia and 1.9 grams of methamphetamine. Knapp was transported to the jail without incident and charged with DWLSR, possession of meth and possession of paraphernalia.
