War Eagles finish regular season at 19-4-1

The Wakulla High School Varsity baseball team came into the last week of the regular season with a record of 18-3-1. They hosted Maclay for senior recognition night on Tuesday, April 23 and won the game 9-2 to improve to 19-3-1.
Starting pitcher Ryan Newberry threw 3.1 innings scattering 5 hits, giving up 1 run and striking out 2 to get the win to improve his record to 3-0.
Will Chipman threw 2.2 innings shutout innings giving up no hits.
Hayden Wright closed out the 7th giving up a run, but striking out the side.
The War Eagles tallied 6 hits on the night. Jed Hoffman was 2-2 with a double. Haden Klees was 2-3 with 4 RBIs and a 2-run homerun. Michael Hurley drove in 2 runs with a single and Parker Lawhon drove in a run with a single.
On Thursday, April 25th, the War Eagles hosted Chiles High School for their last regular season game.
Chiles won the contest 7-2.
The War Eagles managed 6 hits. Parker Lawhon was 2-4. Brady Crum added a double. Sam Bruce, Gavin Gautreau, and Jed Hoffman each had singles.
Jesse Nazworth threw 3.1 shutout innings.
Owen Klees threw an inning in relief and Gavin Estep closed the 7th with a shutout inning.
The War Eagles ended the regular season with a 19-4-1 record and will start the district tournament this coming week.
