This report is for activities May 24-31:
FRIDAY, MAY 24
- Deputy Ernesto Trujillo responded to Blackberry Lane in reference to a disturbance complaint. Upon arrival Deputy Trujillo made contact with Amanda Plouffe and Tyson Scott. Both subjects were arguing over ownership of property at the address.
- Deputies responded to Mohican Trail. In reference to a structure fully engulfed. Lt. Brent Sanders arrived on scene and the shed next to the residence was fully engulfed. Wakulla Fire-Rescue arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. The homeowner James Hooker arrived on scene shortly time later. The shed was deemed a total loss.
- Lt. Brent Sanders responded to Carousel Lane, in reference to a possible identity theft complaint. Upon arrival, Lt Sanders made contact with Robert Andrew, who stated someone opened a Verizon Wireless account in his name back in 2020. Andrew stated Verizon told him he needed the incident documented to have it removed. Lt. Sanders provided Mr. Andrew with an Identity Theft pamphlet.
- Lisa Savitri Singh was observed driving recklessly south on Crawfordville Highway. Upon conducting a traffic stop on her vehicle, deputies were able to determine Singh was intoxicated. Singh was arrested for DUI and transported to the Wakulla County Jail without incident. Deputy Dustin Matthews investigated.
- Kody Elizabeth Burch was observed driving recklessly on Crawfordville Highway. Upon conducting a traffic stop on her vehicle, Burch was observed to be highly intoxicated. Burch was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to the WCSO Jail Facility without incident. Deputy Dustin Matthews investigated.
SATURDAY, MAY 25
- Deputy Arturo Cordoba responded to the Dollar General at 1409 Shadeville Road in reference to a theft that occurred a day earlier, on May 24. Upon arrival, Deputy Cordoba made contact with Karen Ramirez, who stated while checking the money drawer from last night She noticed it was short several hundred dollars. Upon watching the surveillance video, she observed a black male interacting with the clerk. It appeared the suspect was overwhelming the clerk with request for change for smaller bills and while the clerk was counting the money the suspect pocketed the money. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
- Coleman Wells reported unknown subjects entering the Sopchoppy Auditorium and discharging a fire extinguisher. The unknown subjects also took microphones. At the time of this report Wells did not have any serial numbers or values of the microphones taken. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation. Deputy Montgomery Williams investigated.
SUNDAY, MAY 26
- Deputy William Montgomery responded to Osprey Circle in reference to a stolen kayak. Upon arrival Deputy Montgomery made contact with Laura Wharton, who advised sometime in the past month someone stole her kayak from the communal boat ramp in Mysterious Waters subdivision. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
- An employee at Dux reported Dallas Gary Ragan Jr. being disorderly at Dux Liquors. Employees turned a fan on to keep cool and Ragan would turn it off as soon as it was turned on by employees. Ragan was asked to leave the establishment by employees. Ragan allegedly began to cause a scene and had to be ushered out by security staff. Deputies arrived and made contact with Ragan outside in the parking area. Ragan had taken his shirt off and was yelling obscenities at the bartenders and security staff from the parking area. Multiple deputies advised Ragan to calm down and refrain from cursing at the employees. Ragan refused the advice and was placed under arrest for disorderly intoxication.
MONDAY, MAY 27
- A traffic stop was conducted for faulty equipment. The driver identified as Taylor Barnes did not have a valid license and was found to have multiple prior convictions for driving while license suspended or reveoked (DWLSR). Barnes was placed under arrest and transported to the jail facility. Sgt Eddie Webb investigated.
TUESDAY, MAY 28
- Laken Silvera reported someone breaking into her mother’s home. Taken was a generator, sound bar and jewelry. Crime Scene responded to the scene and assisted deputies with the investigation. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
- Deputy Nick Gray was dispatched to the area of Wakulla Springs Highway, south of Bloxham Cutoff, in reference to a reckless driver. The vehicle was located, and a traffic stop conducted. The driver, David Bullock was determined to be under the influence. After field sobriety exercises were conducted, Bullock was placed under arrest and transported to the Wakulla County Jail.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 30
- Deputy Ernesto Trujillo responded to Lake Ellen Shores in reference to a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival Deputy Trujillo made contact with Alexandria Swain, who advised someone contacted her through “messenger” and told her a suspect had stolen her vehicle. Swain stated she called her house and her grandmother told her the car was missing. Later, Swain and the registered owner of the vehicle, James Taylor, came to the sheriff’s office and signed a prosecution form. The vehicle was entered into NCIC/FCIC as stolen. A possible suspect has been identified in this case. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
FRIDAY, MAY 31
- Jennifer Thaxton reported her PayPal account had been hacked. Thaxton stated 19 charges were made between May 21 and 23. Thaxton stated $5,000 worth of merchandise was ordered online and delivered to an address in Oregon. Thaxton stated she alerted her bank and PayPal and is not out any money at this time. Deputy Edwin Grove investigated.
