Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office Detectives and the Crime Suppression Unit, alongside detectives of the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, the North Star Multijurisdictional Drug Task Force, and Agents of the Homeland Security Investigations executed two residential Search Warrants as part of “Operation Heartbreaker” on Thursday, May 23.


The Search Warrants were the result of an extensive, multi-month investigation by Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Detectives and the Crime Suppression Unit into large-scale Methamphetamine distribution in Wakulla County.
During the investigation, Detectives identified Maura Evans of Medart as selling large amounts of methamphetamine from her residence. Upon execution of the search warrant on Evans’ residence, 40.8 grams methamphetamine, 1.7 grams cocaine, ecstasy, prescription medication, suspected LSD, a large amount of cash, a shotgun and ammunition were located. Evans and Austin Smith were inside the residence and taken into custody for multiple felony warrants ascertained from this investigation.
Additionally, the investigation identified Matthew Stewart of Panacea as selling large amounts of methamphetamine from his residence and a search warrant was obtained. Upon execution of the search warrant, 11.8 grams Methamphetamine, 6.7 grams cocaine, prescription medication, suspected LSD, and multiple firearms were located. Stewart was taken into custody on multiple felony warrants obtained from this investigation. Jared Harvey was present at Stewart’s residence and taken into custody for Possession of Methamphetamine.
During the investigation, arrest warrants were obtained for Brian Taff and Summer Harris. Both were located and taken into custody.
