The big news ‘round here was the FSU-Georgia Tech football game in Dublin.
Despite a squeaker of a loss, all the Nole fans seem to agree it was worth the trip to Ireland. Among them were my son-in-law Brian Rodgers and grandson Harrison.
From photos of the stadium, it appeared half of North Florida made the trek to the game. I am so pleased my guys got to experience this once in a lifetime trip, making precious memories that will last forever. But it may be tough to return to the humdrum of everyday life!
School has begun, and the county has elected a new School Superintendent and School Board member. Congratulations to all of the contestants for a race well run, and good luck to folks who have won their elections.
Meanwhile, Wakulla football has gotten off to a great start, classes are rolling and a new school year is all shiny and bright.
I love the feeling of wonderful possibilities and anticipation of new discoveries each year brings. There’s just something about the rhythms of a school year that is so invigorating.
Please keep Cindy Blackstock in your prayers, as well as her sister Deborah Giles. Cindy is celebrating a birthday this week, as are Thelma Watts, David Hinson and Cale Cox. Here’s to a happy birthday and a great year to come.
Patty Moxley, sister of Pam Adams, needs our prayers for healing and traveling mercies. Also in need of prayer are the families and friends of Kyla Parker, and Andie and Meghan McKee, as well as the individuals who were injured in last week’s car crash. Becky Perkins, Norma Woodcock, and Ms. Thelma still need our prayers for healing too.
It won’t be long and it will be Homecoming Sunday at the Wakulla United Methodist Church. Be sure to put October 6th on your calendar! We are planning on having a special guest speaker, followed by a great covered dish supper! Y’all come!
