Happy Labor Day, everyone! I hope everyone had a great three day weekend with family and friends. The celebration of the working man and woman is a great tradition, for where would we be without each and everyone of us doing our part to keep the wheels of industry turning? Special appreciation to all the first responders who seldom get three day weekends, keeping all of us safe in times of disaster and trouble!
This coming Second Sunday, the Woodville United Methodist Church will offer an hour of Christian music by a group of ukulele musicians. As usual, this unique performance will be followed by a free fellowship supper in the social hall. It all begins at 6:00pm, and everyone is welcome to join us.
Homecoming at the Wakulla UMC will by Sunday, Oct. 6th, at 10 a.m. We will be celebrating our 180th anniversary as a congregation with Communion and a fellowship covered- dish dinner. The Rev. David Gill will be the special guest speaker, and we are looking forward to hearing from him once again. Rev. Gill stepped up and served as the church’s interim pastor a few years ago, when we found ourselves without a pastor. Be sure to put the date on your calendar, and plan to join us this happy celebration!
Many of you know Bubba, who works at the Circle K in Wakulla Station. He has had a serious health event, and really needs our prayerful support. Angel Smith’s father, Wayne, needs our prayers, as does Lorrie Gallamore’s mother, Cindy Blackstock and her sister Deborah Giles, Becky Perkins, Kelly O’Neil, Thelma Watts, Norma Woodstock, and Mary Jane Thornton.
I am so happy to report that my cousin Mike Harrison has come through his surgery, and is recuperating very well; Clem Bunker continues to recuperate and was able to join us for Sunday’s church service.
