This report is for activity Sept. 13-19:

FRIDAY, SEPT. 13

  • Contact was made with Ryan Guenther in the area of Spring Creek and Shadeville Road after getting reports of reckless driving in the area. On contact with Guenther, who became irate with zone deputies and requested the Lieutenant. Upon the arrival of Lt. Alexander, it was determined Guenther was refusing to provide his driver’s license to deputies. Guenther ultimately provided his license, and deputies were able to complete their investigation for reckless driving.

MONDAY, SEPT. 16

  • William Porter was taken into custody for having outstanding warrants out of Wakulla County. Porter had a small amount of marijuana on his person which was seized for destruction during the arrest.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 17

  • Deputies responded to the front lobby in reference to a Grand Theft. Angela Oswalt said a money order for $1,000 was missing from her purse and had been cashed by an unknown subject. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
  • An unknown subject entered a classroom in the old Sopchoppy School and set off the fire extinguisher. There was no damage observed other than the cleanup required in the room.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 18

  • Angela Howe reported suspects taking money from her account using the Metapay app. Howe advised she allowed the suspect to use a personal cellphone to make TikTok videos. The phone was linked to her Apple account. Howe was able to lock the account after the bank notified her of the unauthorized transactions. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
  • Deputies responded to the Dollar General at 1904 Woodville Highway in reference to a theft that already occurred. The store manager reported three black males entered the business and exited with multiple items passing all points of sale. The manager was unable to provide an accurate list of the items at the time of the report. The suspects fled the scene northbound towards Woodville in a Toyota sedan. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
  • Deputies responded to Walmart in reference to a theft. The complainant reported witnessing a black male exiting the business through the garden center. The man appeared to have a shopping cart full of items and exited passing all points of sale. Upon his exit from the business, the suspect appeared to make his way to a Toyota sedan with two other males awaiting his return. The suspect vehicle is believed to be involved in a theft that occurred in Woodville. The suspect vehicle quickly fled the scene, heading northbound on Crawfordville Highway. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 19

  • Thomas Callaway reported someone cutting the chain on his locked gate to the tow yard at Hobby Towing. After inventorying the lot, Thomas noticed a Red Honda 600 RR motorcycle missing. It is unknown who might have taken the motorcycle. The motorcycle was entered into NCIC/FCIC as stolen. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
