Giving praise and thanksgiving when we pray. Praise come and praise brings thanksgiving to the Lord who answers prayers.
Prayers go up and blessings some down from the Lord.
In order to be productive in our prayer lives, we must realize that prayer is an offensive weapon. For so long, Christians have taken on prayer as a spiritual discipline to be checked off each day. They have used it as a way to make their lives more comfortable, asking God to give them those things they want, and bless those they want Him to. Many times it is all about them.
Prayer is an offensive and fefesnive weapon for winning spiritual victories for Christ.
Daniel 9:3: “I set my face unto the Lord God to seek by prayer and supplications with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.”
Acts 16:26: “And suddenly there was a great earthquake so that the foundations of the prison were shaken and all the doors were opened and everyone’s bands were loosed.”
But before that happened, Acts 16:25: “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.”
Praise and thanksgiving are no dependent on our situation. We praise God in good times and bad. We pray for world leaders and godly leaders who are willing to follow the Lord’s guidance. We all will benefit from submitting to godly leaders.
Our daily prayers and concern are for the sick and shut-in, to those in need of help in all ways, those in the hospital, nursing home, prison, the homeless. All in need of a blessing.
