Florida State University (FSU) Credit Union officially changed its name to Champions First Credit Union effective Oct. 1. On Tuesday, Oct. 15, a ribbon-cutting was held at the Crawfordville branch to commemorate the name change. The name change follows the credit union’s rapid expansion over the last five years, from serving primarily the greater Tallahassee market to now operating out of branches in five Northwest Florida counties stretching from Lake City to Pensacola. The brand change decision by the board of directors and management team came after nearly three years of internal and external research with both current and prospective members.
