I was the DJ for the Florida Wildlife Mammal Association’s 2nd Annual Feathers & Fur Masquerade Ball. It was an amazing event. We had very special guests. Two amazing owls were in attendance. Be the Light Festival was October 26th 5pm-8 at the Sopchoppy Depot Park.
Sopchoppy Shells and Tails festival is November 9th from 9 to 4 in Sopchoppy! Come enjoy some oysters, mullet and good times. Nov. 9th I will be DJing Brewfest in St. Marks from noon to 4.
The election is happening. Make sure you vote. We need commissioners that are going to protect Sopchoppy. Respect our land and our history. We want to keep “Easy Living” and not turn it into a subdivision. Pray about it and make your vote count.
Ms. Sheila Davis passed away. I would see her helping the Congregational Holiness Church in Sopchoppy. She helped with the floats for the parade. She helped with the food drive. She was a special lady. She could cook like no other! The best cupcakes I ever had were the banana pudding cupcakes she made me. I posted them on Facebook and I had people trying to buy them. These cupcakes were not for sale. I will miss her and I would like to send love to her family at this time.
I also want to remember Tim Carroll. He used to live near me in Sopchoppy. We called him Tomato Tim because he was known for growing tomatoes at one time. His living room was converted into a jam room! Full on jam room… guitars, drum set, keyboard, mics…. Everyone would come over and jam, switch instruments, grab the mic. A real music jam! I thought it was amazing! So amazing that I filmed some of my music video at his house. Those band scenes in the “Down Here” video were his living room. Tim is also featured in the video sitting on his front porch. After he moved, a friend was cleaning out a garage and found a lot of the original studio soundproof foam. I was called to see if I wanted it. Some of that studio sound foam is up in my studio now! I wanted to send my Love to his family and friends! He will be missed by many. I cherish the memories. Civic Brewery is closed this week because they are getting ready to serve pizza! Yes you read that right… Pizza is coming back to Sopchoppy! I absolutely love pizza so I am very excited to have good pizza back in Sopchoppy!
The temperature is changing fast. The cool weather is coming in. I love the crisp air. The white squirrels are out a lot lately. I love to see them. They are another reason we should not cut down all the trees. Sopchoppy is special and I will fight to keep it that way.
