Charter Review Committee earns accolades from chair for their work

Editor, The Sun:

An open letter to the members of the Charter Review Committee sent election night:

Good Evening 2023 Charter Review Commission Members:
With all votes in for Wakulla County, all three of the Charter Amendments brought forth via the CRC passed!!
Proposed amendments #2 (motorist/pedestrian safety) and #3 (CRC being convened every 6 years) were voted on favorably by nearly 75% of the voters. While proposed amendment #1 (Impact Fee Studies) received the least amount of votes of the three, it still eclipsed the 60% threshold instituted for amendments to the State of Florida Constitution. These percentages send a clear message that your hard work was not done in vain and that your proposals were directly in-line with the mindset of your neighbors here in Wakulla County.
I’d like to thank each of you again for volunteering a year of your time to selflessly work on the behalf of others and for the good of our County. The passing of all three of your proposals is a true testament to the impact a group of good-hearted and cordial volunteers can have on their own community.
I hope everyone is doing great!!
Respectfully,

Chris Russell
Past CRC Chair
