War Eagle band receives superior rating
The Wakulla High School Marching Band received straight superiors at the Music Performance Assessment competition held at Gene Cox Stadium! Congratulations to the War Eagle Band!
Jeremiah Dissmore auditioned for the All State Band and was chosen as the only participant from Wakulla High School. About 400 clarinet players tried out from all across the state of Florida and less than 15 students were chosen.
New band director Matthew Spindler
Matthew Spindler attended Florida State University and Florida A&M University. While at these universities he was a member or the FSU Marching Chiefs, FSU Seminole Sound, a FSU Jazz Band, FSU Trombone Choir, FAMU Symphonic Band, and FAMU Jazz Band. While in school, Spindler worked as a counselor and instructor at the FSU Summer Music Camps as well as a Marching Band Tech at Thomasville High School for the 2019 season. He graduated in the Spring of 2021 with a degree in Music Education. After Graduation, Spindler was hired on as the Band Director at Riversprings Middle School where he taught from 2021-2024. While at RMS, He, along side Riley Carrier, hosted Summer Music Camps for both RMS and WMS Band Students. In 2024, He accepted the position of Director of Bands at Wakulla High School. He still works as an instructor at the Florida State University Summer Music Camps.
