Florida Small Business District Conference at FAMU, held its 40th awards luncheon at the FSU Augustus B. Turnbull Center on Thursday May 4. North Florida Learning Center received the start-up Business of the year award.
The Startup Business of the Year award recipient was Jennifer Phillips.
In March of 2020 the classroom doors across the state of Florida were closed to all students, teachers, and staff. It was a pivotal moment for Phillips.
“There has to be a better way” Phillips said.
In November 2021, she opened her first Learning Center in Crawfordville. One year later she opened her second learning center in Southwood.
“My goal is to bridge the academic gap created by the Covid-19 pandemic,” Phillips said.
