Wakulla Station News
By VERNA BROCKThis past Saturday afternoon, much of Wakulla County gathered at Chiles High School to celebrate the Wakulla Dance Academy’s dance recital. Our granddaughter Harper Rodgers was one of dozens of performers sharing their love of dance and performance. We always look forward to this end of year event with such joy.
Sunday evening I was blessed to join my fellow Methodists at the Woodville United Methodist Church for their second Sunday Sing, featuring the Byrd family bluegrass performers. From near Dothan, Ala., this talented family played a wide assortment of instruments: banjo, fiddle, piano, bass viol, mandolin and guitar were all wielded expertly, with perfectly harmonious vocals. What a wonderful treat to fellowship with friends in song and dinner afterwards!
Happy June birthday wishes to my daughter Emma Smith, Diane O’neil, Karen Thompson and Mary Jo Dowling!
Please keep Thelma Watts in your prayers, as she fights an infection that is preventing her from receiving a pace-maker.
Also in need of prayers is Sebastian Mosely, improving and growing stronger in hopes of having a heart transplant soon. Faye Sweeney also needs our prayerful support. Also in need of prayer is Clem Bunker, the Kendrick family, the Carter families, the Lynn family, the Vickery family, the Hurst family, the Hobby family, the Hodges family and the Sloan-Peacock family.
