Congratulations to Jack and Karah Ladd on the arrival of their baby boy, Phoenix Augustus Crawford Ladd! Jack is a former pastor of the Wakulla United Methodist Church, and we rejoice with him, Karah, and their families as they welcome little Fenny home.

Please keep Faye Sweeney in your prayers following an accident. She is doing well, but sustained a bump on her head. Also in need of prayers is Pam Adams, still recovering from a sprained ankle and wrist; Debra Giles, sister of Cindy Blackstock; Mel Pope undergoing treatment at the Mayo Clinic; Joyce Hinson’s brother Kim; Diane O’Neill, recovering from a bad cold; Lisa Mobley, experiencing an autoimmune disorder flare; and Ms. Thelma Watts who continues to recover from several health issues.

Happy birthday wishes to both Mr. Justin Smith and Izabel Hernandez this month!

Parade season is picking up momentum, with two parades this month. The Valentine’s Day Parade this past Saturday was a huge success, as always.

This Friday night is the Wakulla County Christian Coatlion’s annual scholarship gala/fundraiser at 6 p.m. at the Community Center (tickets are $40 each). This will honor Authur Lee Andrews, the only soldier killed from Wakulla County, during the Vietnam conflict.
On Saturday there will be the African American Heritage Parade, starting at 10 a.m. in Crawfordville. Among the parade performers will be the Omega Lamplighters from Tallahassee, Studio 88 Dance Academy students and Tiger Rock martial arts teams. On Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. there is the African American Reading Chain (a nationwide event) at the Palaver Tree Theater.
