I hope everyone had a good Spring break. I took advantage of the pretty weather to work in the yard, pruning and weeding everything. Ed and I took a road trip to Perry to pick up some of the orange trees he ordered (two years ago!). After that, we drove to Madison to visit some of the wonderful antique shops and junque stores over there. Yes, I did manage to find a treasure or two. We finished the excursion with a visit to O’Neal’s Country Style Buffet. All in all, a delightful day.
I really enjoyed visiting the SunBlest Nursery Open House this past weekend! I got there right at nine o’clock Saturday morning, and it was already PACKED. Every year they add another layer of organization to help manage the crowds. There was a trolley available to help transport folks from their vehicles parked for miles up and down Commerce Boulevard. They were even controlling how many folks could enter the greenhouses (50 at a time….).
I decided to make a suggestion for next year, to make a circular route through the entire property, to make the flow of traffic one way. Over the past few years, managing the huge rolling shelves full of plants has been a real challenge. Maneuvering them back and forth, dodging oncoming traffic and even parked shelves, has always proved difficult. I hope someone figures it out for next year!
One of the best things about this biannual event is seeing friends and neighbors. School Board member Laura Lawhon was volunteering with the Wakulla Rotary Club, working the event. Of course, the Christian Coalition was there, spreading word about their annual back-to-school fund drive, while also working the event. I ran into so many people I know, and we all were excited! There were so many amazingly beautiful fruit trees, landscape plants, bedding plants, ornamental plants and hanging baskets galore. And all at great prices.

The members of my United Women of Faith (formerly United Methodist Women) had our monthly meeting at Little Napoli Italian Restaurant in Crawfordville. Oh my goodness! The food was off the chain. I ordered the garlic knots, and they were, by far, the best I have ever eaten anywhere. If you’ve never been, you need to check it out. You will not regret it.

Holy Week is upon us, and readers are invited to join us at the Wakulla UMC for Maundy Thursday service at 6 p.m. The Crawfordville UMC is having a Good Friday service, and the Woodville UMC is hosting a Saturday Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. Easter Sunday the Wakulla UMC will have a Sunrise Service at 7:15 a.m., and Woodville UMC will have an 11:15 a.m. service too.

Please continue to pray for Deborah Giles, sister of Cindy Blackstock, who is facing some serious medical issues. Also in need of prayer is Norma Woodcock, Thelma Watts, the Butler family, Leah Pearson, Earline Hall, Jimmy Gainey and Clem Bunker.
