Governor signs bill changing name of TCC

On July 1, school will be renamed as Tallahassee State College

Gov. Ron DeSantis at the bill-signing ceremony for the school to be known as Tallahassee State College.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed Senate Bill 522 into law on Wednesday, March 27,, renaming Tallahassee Community College as Tallahassee State College effective July 1.

Man found not guilty in arson, animal cruelty case

A six-person jury returned a not guilty verdict against a Crawfordville man who had been charged with burning his girlfriend’s house down and killing a puppy.
Bobby Joe Sampson Jr. was found not guilty of arson and aggravated animal cruelty after a one-day trial on Tuesday, March 19.

Billy Rader at Sopchoppy Opry on Saturday

Billy Rader of Ocean Opry fame will join the all-star cast of musicians and vocalist on Saturday, March 30, at 7 p.m. at the Sopchoppy Opry in historic Sopchoppy School Auditorium. Wayne Martin and Country Gold along with the Opry’s own South Bound Band will present an evening music the whole family can enjoy.
