This report is for activities March 15-21:
FRIDAY, MARCH 15
- Tammy Gray-Walker reported her vehicle stolen. A suspect was identified in this case. The vehicle was entered into NCIC/FCIC as stolen. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation. Deputy William Montgomery investigated.
- Craig Tyrone Lowery was observed sitting at a stop sign with his vehicle idling. Upon contact by deputies, Lowery drove off and came to a stop in the middle of MLK. Further investigation revealed Lowery was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. Lowery was placed under arrest and transported to the Wakulla County Jail. Deputy Norman De Guzman investigated.
SUNDAY, MARCH 17
- The Asset Protection Officer with Walmart reported an unknown white male passing the last point of sale with a lawn mower and chainsaw. The items taken were valued at $515.After collecting the evidence from Walmart, Deputies were able to identify a possible suspect in the case. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation. Deputy Matt Hinson investigated.
MONDAY, MARCH 18
- Kimberly Swor reported a window had been busted on a rental home she owns. Swor believes it to be former tenants whom she recently evicted caused the damage. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation. Sgt Edward Webb investigated.
TUESDAY, MARCH 19
- Deputy Austin Rivers responded to Evans Avenue and made contact with Cody Cook who stated upon arrival home, he discovered his residence was broken into and several items missing. Crime scene investigators and detectives responded to assist with the investigation. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
- Ryan Zimba called and reported a subject was trading a shotgun in, when the weapon was run through NCIC/FCIC, it was discovered stolen out of Escambia County from 1988. The weapon was collected and placed into property and evidence. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
- Deputy Heather Will conducted traffic stop for expired tag. The driver, Matthew Barineau was determined to not possess a valid driver’s license and in possession of several types of illegal narcotics. Matthew was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended or revoked (DWLSR) as well as possession of synthetic cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, and transported to the Wakulla County Jail.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20
- Melissa Patrick, manager of Advanced Auto, reported two juveniles coming into the store over a two-day period of time stealing items from the store. Patrick was able to provide names of the suspects. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation. Deputy William Montgomery investigated.
- A brush fire got out of control burning a small shed and a broken-down vehicle. The owner valued the lost items at approximately $500. The vehicle was used for a storage shed and a small make-shift shed was attached. Neither item had insurance coverage for the loss. Deputy Arturo Cordoba responded.
- Andrew Lee Wasser reported receiving a call from a male identifying himself as a lieutenant from the Leon County Clerk’s Office. The suspect advised Wasser he had a bench warrant for his arrest for failure to show up for jury duty. Wasser was advised he needed to make a payment of $1,000 in order to clear the warrant. The suspect sent Wasser a photocopy of a fraudulent warrant document from the FBI and a Walmart barcode to submit payment to. Wasser was advised by the suspect not to contact Wakulla sheriff’s office because he would be arrested. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
