This report is for activities March 29 – April 4:

FRIDAY, MARCH 29

  • Ana Browning was observed sitting in the yard of a residential property on Woodville Highway behind the wheel of the vehicle. Upon contact by deputies, Browning allegedly admitted to drinking and was believed she was still in Leon County. Further investigation revealed Browning was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. Browning was placed under arrest and transported to the Wakulla County Jail without incident. Deputy Matt Hinson investigated.
  • A road rage incident turned into a fight near a food truck location. The victim pulled over at Lex and Roll which caused the suspect Travis Hill to follow. Once stopped Hill forced his way into the victim’s vehicle and began to hit him. Travis fled to Franklin county. Franklin County Deputies eventually located Hill and returned him for processing at Wakulla County Jail. Travis Hill was charged with Burglary With Person Assaulted and Criminal Mischief. Deputy Ashton Williams investigated.

SATURDAY, MARCH 30

  • Deputy Ernesto Trujillo responded to the Dollar General at 3134 Crawfordville Highway in reference to a retail theft complaint. Upon arrival Deputy Trujillo made contact with the manager. The manager advised she observed a white male pass the last point of sale without paying for his items. The manager went on to say there is video footage of the incident that could be retrieved at a later date. This case has been forwarded to detectives for further investigation.
  • Deputy William Montgomery responded to the Dollar General on Shadeville Road in reference to a customer throwing items at the clerk. Upon arrival Deputy Montgomery made contact with the victim. The victim advised she recognized a customer that had been told not to come back to the store, from a couple weeks ago. The victim advised she approached the customer, Joanna Ross, and told her she was not allowed at the store and she needed to leave. The victim stated that is when Ross became angry and threw a candy bar at her, hitting her in the chest. Ross then left the store. A short time later Deputy Ernesto Trujillo was able to locate Ross. Subsequently Ross was placed under arrest for Battery and transported to the Wakulla County Jail.

SUNDAY, MARCH 31

  • Deputy Ernesto Trujillo responded to an address on Woodville Highway in reference to a stolen tag and other items. Upon arrival Deputy Trujillo made contact with Doria Parker, who advised she left her car back in July 2022 to get fixed. When she retrieved her vehicle in Tallahassee, she observed the tag missing. Parker was also advised by the mechanic that the catalytic converter was missing off the vehicle as well. Due to the car being moved from one mechanic shop to another it is uncertain where the vehicle was when the items were taken. This case has been forwarded to detectives for further investigation.

MONDAY, APRIL 1

  • Deputy Heather Will responded to 803 Crawfordville Hwy. and made contact with Hugh Johnson, who stated while attending Easter service two fishing poles were stolen from his vehicle. This case has been sent to detectives for further investigation.
  • John Padgett reported losing his wallet. Padgett believes the wallet was lost while shopping at WalMart. Deputies were unable to locate the wallet during their shift. Lt Gibby Gibson investigated.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3

  • Deputies responded to Herring Circle in reference to a disturbance. During the investigation, it was revealed a physical altercation occurred involving James Evans, who was found to have wielded a knife during the incident towards the victim. Evans was arrested on one count of aggravated assault and transported to the Wakulla County Jail.
