$27 million for Wakulla

The 2025 Florida Legislative Session concluded on June 16, 2025, with a $115.1 billion state budget for Fiscal Year 2025-26, a $3.5 billion reduction from the prior year.
State Sen. Corey Simon, whose district includes Wakulla, championed rural development, education, and health initiatives, securing key victories for his constituents.

We are proud to announce the total funding for Wakulla County was:

  • Wakulla County Otter Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility Improvements- $1,000,000
  • Wakulla County Fire Rescue Aerial Truck- $1,050,000
  • Wakulla County Emergency Operations Center Improvements-$673,100
  • Wakulla Basin GIS Mapping initiative- $2,576,697
  • Wakulla Pregnancy Center- $136,000
  • Wakulla High School Year 2 of 3 and additional- $21,949,324
    Total – $27,385,324

A huge thank you to our legislative partners and everyone that helped get these important projects to the finish line.
This is a win for Wakulla County, and I will continue to fight for District 3 this coming session, which will begin Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026.
