Well I just had a birthday. I got hundreds of happy birthday posts and comments on my Facebook. Thank you to everyone that wished me a happy birthday.
Football season is here! Wakulla won! Proud of the home team! I was the DJ for Franklin County Seahawks first game. They won too! They played great!
Sopchoppy is getting ready for Depot Days and car show September 13th! They will be having a car parade! Food vendors, oldie goldie music and more. I host the car parade. It is a fun time. Make sure you visit the train depot because it is full of so much history.
The Yella Flys are officially gone. (I think!) The Yella Fly shirts are still available! I had to order another box. People love ‘em. It’s my No. 1 seller online. I order some to have in stock for events that I DJ and for locals. All ages love them. It’s funny because I made the shirt as a joke. Getcha one! They are available at Coast and Country Realty aka the Sopchoppy Feed Store. That’s the old hardware store for my old school real Sopchoppy folks.
The local news came to the train depot to do a story on the new “Welcome to Sopchoppy” sign. It’s coming to the old Mom’s restaurant location. I’m excited to see how this turns out.
The Sopchoppy Bakehouse is opening this week. In-house roasted cofffee. I love coffee. Fresh baked goodies! My goodness I’m ready! I love to see our historic buildings come to life. A lot of history in that building. I’m so ready!
I went to the Loafers Bench again. Those sandwiches are so good. YES, SIR! I also got some sweet tea. Another historic building saved. When you walk into the Loafers Bench it’s like walking into old Sopchoppy. Pictures, decoration and everything. I love the down-home love. That is what Sopchoppy is all about!
The Florida Wild Mammal Association will hold its annual Feathers and Fur Masquerade Ball on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Historic Sopchoppy Gymnasium. The event will include music by DJ Butch! Awesome food like a dinner buffet and amazing desserts. There will be a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, a costume contest, and door prizes.
Florida Wild Mammal Association is a non profit 501(c)3 organization serving the injured and orphaned wildlife of the Big Bend region, including Franklin, Jefferson, Leon, Taylor and Wakulla counties for 30 years. Their mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and release the injured and orphaned wildlife to their native habitat.
