FRIday, Nov. 7
- Deputy Ashton Williams responded to The Wakulla Animal Shelter in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, contact was made with the reporting person who advised he recently purchased Lottery Scratch-Off tickets for his co-worker. The co-worker scratched the tickets and left the losing ones on a desk inside the office. Shortly after, he was unable to locate the losing tickets and reviewed surveillance footage from the office. Upon review of the video, he observed a female enter the office. She is seen retrieving the losing tickets from the desk and exiting the office shortly after. Due to there being no loss of value, they requested she be issued a Trespass Warning if contact is made with her.
SATURday, Nov. 8
- Deputy Rosa Sammons responded to Walmart in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, contact was made with Loss Prevention who advised an unidentified white male exiting the business with a new pair of boots. The male is seen entering the pharmacy entrance via video surveillance and walking toward the shoe department. Shortly after, the male is observed walking toward the make-up section and then proceeding to the exit. Upon review of the store’s surveillance video, the male can be seen exiting the business wearing what appears to be a new pair of work boots. She then makes her way to the shoe department and began sifting through the shoe boxes in the men’s shoe section. She locates an older pair of boots in a Survivor’s Men’s Bison Waterproof steel-toe-boot new shoe box. The stolen boots were valued at $79.47. The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene in a Chevrolet Silverado.
- Florida Highway Patrol requested assistance after working a traffic crash and needed to turn over a firearm that was located during their investigation. The firearms were collected and submitted to property and evidence for safekeeping.
- Deputy Dylan Buckhalt located an abandoned motorized scooter near the intersection of Wakulla Springs Road and Shadeville Highway. Upon further inspection it was discovered there was no tag on the vehicle and the VIN had been removed intentionally. Due to suspicions the scooter was stolen, it was seized and transported to the WCSO impound yard for further investigation.
SUNday, Nov. 9
- Deputy Ashton Williams responded to Hawthorn Pass in reference to a lost property complaint. Upon arrival, contact was made with a citizen who advised he believes he lost his wallet earlier in the day. He last saw the wallet as he left Anytime Fitness. He stated he made his way to Walgreens on foot and then jogged home. Once he made his way home, he discovered he had misplaced the wallet. He advised he has canceled all his banking cards and requested the incident be documented in case someone locates his property.
- Deputy Dylan Buckhalt conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to stop at a stop sign. During the stop, the odor of marijuana was detected. Due to no one having a valid medical marijuana card, a probable cause search was conducted. During the search a small amount of marijuana along with paraphernalia was located. The items were seized and submitted to property and evidence for destruction.
MONday, Nov. 10
- A citizen discovered one of her U-Haul utility trailers had been reported stolen out of Georgia. Contact was made with detectives from the Banks County Sheriff’s Office who removed the trailer as stolen. The trailer was towed to WCSO Impound Yard.
- Deputy Aimee Hoagland responded to a possible theft from a construction site on Needle Thrush. Contact was made with the DR Horton superintendant. He stated he observed a vehicle leaving a job site with an unknown amount of material. A possible suspect has been identified.
TUESday, Nov. 11
- Deputy Aimee Hoagland responded to River Plantation and made contact with a citizen who stated he had an unauthorized charge on his credit card in the amount of $2,730. He contacted his financial institution and they refunded the money. He requested this case be documented for information at this time and signed an affidavit for non-prosecution.

Nov. 12
- Deputy Dustin Saba responded to Center Street in reference to a brush fire on the property. Fire Rescue responded to extinguish the flames in addition to Deputy Saba. Contact was made with the property owner who advised he didn’t know what started the blaze. He advised an old non-functional boat was damaged in the blaze in addition to some shrubbery on the property.
- Deputy Joshua Parker conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Curtis Mill and Sopchoppy Highway for a stop sign violation. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, Deputy Parker detected the odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. Deputy Parker also discovered the driver did not possess a valid medical marijuana card. Due to this a probable cause search was conducted which yielded a small amount of marijuana being located. The marijuana was seized and submitted to property and evidence for destruction.
- Walmart Asset Protection reported an active theft in progress. Deputies were advised that, while observing closed circuit TV, the Asset Protection Officer discovered two subjects in the store that have had history of stealing. She observed the subjects selecting items and placing them inside bags in their cart. After deputies Lexi Kreitlow, Joshua Parker, and Dylan Buckhalt arrived on scene, contact was made with the two subjects who were identified. They passed all final points of sale and exited the store when contact was made. One subject was asked to provide receipt of purchase and advised he made the purchases on the Walmart scan and go app. He then began to look through his phone as though he was looking for a receipt but after a few moments was unsuccessful. Both subjects were detained as the investigation continued. Contact was made with Walmart pharmacy employees who advised that the subject did not pay for his items while he was at the pharmacy and they had voided the transaction. After discovering that there was no proof of purchase both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the county jail without further incident.
THURSday, Nov. 13
- Deputy Rosa Sammons responded to Walmart in reference to a theft that already occurred. Contact was made with Asset Protection, who advised an unknown female exited the store with clothing and shoes while passing all points of sale. The incident occurred on Nov. 11 around 8:15 p.m. The suspect was last seen wearing a dark green Adidas sweatshirt and black-striped athletic pants. The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene in a grey SUV.
- A citizen reported being scammed of $4,000. She advised she received a phone call regarding her brother’s incarceration in Texas. She advised everything seemed legitimate until she spoke with her sister and a bondsman regarding the situation. After being told her brother did not need an ankle monitor upon being released from jail, she contacted her bank as well as law enforcement to report the incident.
- Deputy Lexi Kreitlow attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle. After activating emergency equipment at the intersection of Mose Strickland and Ivan Church Road to conduct the stop, the motorcycle failed to pull over, continuing down Mose Strickland. After reaching the opposite side of Mose Strickland, the driver of the motorcycle bailed on foot leaving the motorcycle behind and running into the woodline. A brief search of the area was conducted but was unable to locate the driver. The abandoned motorcycle was towed.
- Deputy Dylan Buckhalt conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for faulty equipment. During the stop, it was discovered that the driver knowingly did not possess a valid drivers license. The driver of the vehicle was issued a notice to appear for knowingly driving while license suspended or revoked (DWLSR).
FRIday, Nov. 14
- A citizen reported paying a subject to move a mobile home. The home is located in Monticello and was supposed to be relocated to Hill Greene Road. The reporting person paid $10,000, but has yet to have the work completed.
