A decades-old proposal for a land swap between Wakulla County and the U.S. Forest Service is off the table, according to County Administrator David Edwards.
In a recent interview, Edwards said that Assistant County Administrator Somer Pell was sending a letter to the forest service that would say that Wakulla County is “no longer interested at this time.”
County Administrator David Edwards announced his intention to retire within the next 3 to 5 years.
Edwards, who has served as county administrator since 2013, said he feels like he and his staff have “accomplished a lot” during his tenure.

About the time the Wakulla Sun was being sent to the printer last week with a story about local businessman David McQuary complaining about his treatment by the county, he had a meeting with County Administrator David Edwards and County Commissioner Ralph Thomas – and McQuary said the county officials made him a deal that took care of his concerns.

Crawfordville’s Palaver Tree Theater hosted a private screening of a short film titled “Galaxy Trolls” for the participants and the parents of the children who appeared in the film.
“Galaxy Trolls,” which screened Tuesday, Nov. 25, is a short bit of film that’s a sample of what the longer movie is supposed to look like.

Donovan Arthur Sauleda, 39, of Crawfordville, Florida, was sentenced on Thursday to 60 years’ imprisonment, followed by a lifetime of supervised release, for possession and receipt of child pornography, and production and distribution of obscene material portraying a child.
