War Eagles win three more, improve to 15-3-1

The War Eagles hosted Liberty County on Tuesday, April 9th. The War Eagles got behind early and were losing 7-0 in the top of the third inning. The War Eagles bats came alive in the bottom of the third scoring 8 runs to go up by one.
The Bulldogs would not go away quietly scoring 2 in the fourth to take the lead again to make it 9-8.
The War Eagles came in and scored 2 in the bottom half of the frame to go up 10-9.
The War Eagles would tack on 3 more in the sixth to seal the game 13-9 for the win.
Every batter in the lineup had a hit. Owen Klees led the offense with 4 RBIs.
Brady Crum and Josiah Pierini each had two hits and both had a double. Sam Bruce and Michael Hurley also had a double a piece. Parker Lawhon, Haden Klees, Gavin Gautreau, and Jed Hoffman also had a hit a piece.
Will Chipman got the win in relief. Jesse Nazworth also pitched in relief throwing 3 shutout innings and striking out six. He also worked out of a bases loaded, no-out jam to end a Bulldog threat in the 5th.
The War Eagles hosted Madison County on Thursday, April 11th and had another come from behind victory after giving up 3 runs in the first inning, then pulling out an 8-3 victory.
Starting pitcher Gavin Estep settled down after the first inning to throw another 5 shutout innings scattering 6 hits and striking out 9 in a dominant performance.
Jesse Nazworth came took the mound in the 7th throwing a shutout inning to finish the game.
The War Eagles once again swung the bats well pounding out 12 hits. Leading hitter and right fielder Michael Hurley went 4-4 with 2 RBIs and 2 stolen bases to lead the charge.
Haden Klees and Brady Crum both were 2-4 with 2 RBIs. Gavin Gautreau was 2-3 and Jed Hoffman delivered a big RBI single going 1-3. Parker Lawhon also added a single.
The War Eagles traveled up to Lincoln Saturday, April 13 to play 6A First Coast High School from Jacksonville. The War Eagles won 9-2 behind the strong pitching from starter Leaston Spears, reliever Will Chipman, and closing the game in the 7th Owen Klees.
The War Eagles were led at the plate by Haden Klees going 2-4. Parker Lawhon had a two out single to score 2 runs. Josiah Pierini had a solo homerun to tie the game at 2 a piece in the fourth inning.
The War Eagles are currently ranked 8th in the state in 4A and should move up this week with these 3 strong wins.
