FRIDAY, FEB. 21

  • Deputy Kreitlow responded to 9 Rainbow Drive in reference to an investigation. Upon arrival Deputy Kreitlow met with the complainant who reported he had surveillance footage on an unknown male unplugging his surveillance camera. No damage was done to the camera. The male was positively identified and deputies made an attempt to trespass the male from the address.
  • Deputy Kreitlow responded to the Sheriff’s Office lobby in reference to a fraud. Deputy Kreitlow made contact with a citizen who reported a check was stolen from her mailbox on Bottoms Road, and the check was cashed by a different person than the one she wrote the check out to. Case referred to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Munroe responded to a residence on Franklin Drive in reference to the theft of a bike. Case referred to the Criminal Investigations Division.

SATURDAY, FEB. 22

  • Deputy DeGuzman responded to Mashes Sands Road and made contact with a resident who reported his package with medication was delivered but he was unable to find where it was.
  • Deputy Kreitlow met with a resident on Wainscott Circle who reported she awoke this morning and discovered her car tire had been slashed. Video footage was reviewed by a neighbor.
  • Deputy Godwin conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for excessive speed on Coastal Highway. The driver identified as Marvin Elias Hernandez, did not have a valid license, nor has he ever been issued one. Hernandez was placed under arrest for Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Valid License and was transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
  • Deputy Kreitlow met with Asset Protection at Walmart located at 35 Mike Stewart Drive where they reported a delayed theft from the store. A subject failed to scan approximately $75 worth of merchandise. Case referred to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Munroe responded to Windsor Way in reference to a fraud. The resident reported money from his digital account had gone missing. The resident further advised he had been scammed out approximately $300,000 from subjects pretending to be from his Coinbase account. Case referred to the Criminal Investigations Division.

SUNDAY, FEB. 23

  • Deputy Post responded to Beaty Taff Drive in reference to a theft. Upon arrival he met with the complainant who reported a theft of approximately $25,000. Complainant has two subjects managing his rental property, and advised these subjects have rented the property out on multiple occasions without his knowledge and kept the funds. Case referred to the Criminal Investigations Division.

MONDAY, FEB. 24

  • Deputy Sullivan conducted a traffic stop on a moped for traveling on the roadway without a tag on Hampton Way. Contact was made with the driver, Marjorie Kalene Smith, who was found to not possess a valid license. During the stop a bottle containing prescription pills were located without a valid prescription. The moped was also not registered. Smith was arrested and charged with Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (DWLSR) 2nd or Subsequent, Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle, and Possession of Controlled Substance without Prescription; and was transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
  • Lt. Pienta responded to Walmart in reference to a theft complaint that already occurred. Contact was made with Asset Protection, who advised he received a notification from a new software the business is using, of an item not being scanned on Jan. 25. After a review of the store’s security video, a white male was observed scanning items out of his shopping cart. However, the suspect declined to scan a 60-count pack of Great Value Eggs, valued at $29.78. The suspect is then seen exiting the store, passing all points of sale and fleeing the scene in a white pickup truck. No further information is available at this time. Case referred to the Criminal Investigations Division.

TUESDAY, FEB. 25

  • Deputy Williams responded to a residence on Northwood Lane in reference to found property. The property owner of the address is deceased so property was stored for safe keeping.
  • Deputies responded to a residence on Walden Road in reference to an agency assist with Animal Control. While on scene Lt. Pienta observed a stop sign and street sign for “Hog Hedge Lane.” The signs were seized and returned to Wakulla Road and Bridge.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 26

  • Deputy Surrette made contact with a citizen in the Sheriff’s Office front lobby who reported being punched while at Tropical Trader on Feb. 14 by an individual known to him. Investigation continuing.
  • Deputy Cordoba responded to the front lobby and made contacted with a citizen who reported that she began training through a Marketing Agency and once training began, the trainers began requesting money through the “Whats Up” app. The citizen stated she sent a total of $5,000 via cash app, before discovering the Marketing Agency was a fictional company. Case referred to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Saba responded to Walmart and met with the asset protection officer who reported, on Feb. 16, two females entered the store, and neglected to pay for several items, passing the last point of sale. Suspects were identified and investigation is continuing.
  • Deputy Cordoba made contact with a citizen in the Sheriff’s Office lobby who reported someone filed taxes using his information and the IRS needed a police report to attach to his amended return. Case referred to the Criminal Investigations Division.

THURSDAY, FEB. 27

  • Deputy Post responded to Dollar General, 1885 Crawfordville Hwy., in reference to a retail theft. Upon arrival, the deputy met with an employee who reported she had surveillance footage on an unknown suspect taking $250 worth of haircare products and passing the last point of sale without paying for the items. Case referred to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Cordoba responded to Storage Units at 59 Shadeville Road and contacted the complainant who reported three storage units had the locks cut off but was unsure if anything was taken. Complainant stated in one of the units he had a riding mower stored and the battery was removed. Case referred to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Lt. Paul responded to the front lobby and made contact with the complainant who reported he was attempting to obtain a vehicle loan and while doing so the unknown suspect requested, he send $900 for processing fees, in the form of two Apple gift cards. Upon sending the Apple gift cards, he realized somehow the suspect drained his bank account. Case referred to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Saba conducted a traffic stop on McMyers Lane. The driver was identified as Christina Lynn Padgett was found to not have a valid license. Padgett was subsequently arrested and charged with DWLSR and was transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
  • Deputy Sullivan responded to Goodwill Industries in reference to a retail theft that occurred on Feb. 26. Two unknown white females went into the dressing rooms with clothes, changed clothes, then went to their vehicle to change clothes again. Total loss is estimated to be $100. Case referred to the Criminal Investigations Division.

FRIDAY, FEB. 28

  • Deputy Post responded to Walmart and met with Walmart asset protection who reported they had surveillance footage of an unknown suspect passing the last point of sale without paying for all of the items they had. Case referred to the Criminal Investigations Division.
