In the midst of trials, Christians can worship and serve the Lord. Reading the story of Job and his suffering – the Book of Job reveals God’s sovreignty, satanic limitations, and the human struggle of why the righteous suffer.
Job was confronted with sad news time after time. He didn’t have time to recover from one bad report before there was more bad news. Job’s response is helpful for all Christians who will face bad news in one form or another during their lives despite their faith and faithfulness.
As David wrote (Psalm 34:19) “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
Job was a perfect and upright man and one who feared God and eschewed evil. Job was a wealthy man with a large family. The Bible describes Job as the greatest of all the men of the east.
Job loses his family and possessions – and in all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
Job was hurt and confused and he did not know why this was happening, but he knew God – so he worshipped and blessed the Lord rather than cursing him.
We know that in this life there will be trials John 16:33 but our fatihfulness to God in the difficulties of life is a powerful testimony to those who are watching our lives.

On Sunday, June 8 at 11 a.m., Skipper Temple Church will hold its annual Church Day Celebration of 37 years with Mother Ethel Mae Rosier Skipper as pastor, teacher and most of all a servant for the Lord. The preacher for the service will be Pastor Dr. Kenneth Rosier. You are welcome to come praise the Lord with us.
Our prayers and concern goes out to all the sick and shut-in, those in the nursing homes, hospitals, jails, the homeless, world leaders, and all in need of help everywhere. Let us pray for world leaders everywhere.
