FRIday, June 27

  • Deputy Kittrell responded to the Sheriff’s Office lobby located at 15 Oak Street in reference to a fraud complaint and met with a complainant who reported she discovered some fraudulent charges to her bank account. Complainant stated she was contacted via telephone on June 24 at approximately 10 p.m. by an individual claiming to be a fraud investigator with her bank. The impersonator claimed her account had suspicious transactions and requested the last eight digits of her debit card. Shortly after, the complainant began receiving text messages from her bank to authenticate transactions. Complainant believed she was confirming the transactions were fraudulent, but accidently approved the transactions. The exact amount of lost funds is unknown at this time, but she believes the total is in the $10,000 range. Case has been forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Post responded to Walmart in reference to a citizen losing his wallet. The citizen requested a report for documentation purposes.

SATURDay, June 28

  • Deputy Sullivan conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Shadeville Road. During the stop it was determined the driver, Elysabeth Marie Irvin, did not have a valid driver’s license. Irvin was placed under arrest and transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility where she was charged with Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (DWLSR) and drug equipment possession after deputies discovered a methamphetamine pipe. Additionally, an unknown substance was located in the vehicle, which will be sent off for analysis.
  • Deputy Weeks responded to Walmart in reference to an unknown subject passing the last point of sale with $71.88 in merchandise. Case has been forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Sullivan responded to Gray Fox Court in reference to a lightning strike to a residence. Damage to the roof and interior was sustained. Wakulla County Fire Rescue responded and accessed the damage and safety for the residents, no injuries were reported.
  • Deputy Post responded to Walmart in reference to a stolen wallet. Complainant reported after he pumped gas, he realized he did not have his wallet. He went back to Murphy Gas Station and could not locate it.
  • Deputy Godwin responded to Dwight Sanders Road in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, he met with the complainant who advised a person known to him stole his “No trespassing” sign. Deputy Godwin located the suspect and interviewed her, and she advised she did indeed still the sign. A warrant was requested for the female suspect.

SUNday, June 29

  • Deputy Weekes conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Woodville Highway. The driver, Justin Allen Harris was found to have a suspended/revoked driver’s license. Harris was placed under arrest for DWLSR and transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
  • Deputy Saba responded to Rock Landing in reference to an unknown intoxicated male attempting to open a locked vehicle door of a woman’s car. A search of the area was conducted and the male was not located.
  • Deputy Sullivan responded to yet another structure fire caused by lightning on Bridal Gate Court. Wakulla County Fire Rescue responded and accessed the damage and safety of the residence. The residence appeared to have sustained minimal damage.

MONday, June 30

  • Lieutenant Pienta conducted a traffic stop on Crawfordville Highway. The driver, Brady Lee Fortner, was found to have a suspended license with a recent warning given to him in April. Fortner was placed under arrest for DWLSR and was transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
  • Sergeant Will conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Crawfordville Highway. The driver/registered owner was found to not have a valid license. The driver, Mason Blake Ray, admitted to knowing his driver license was not valid. Mason Blake Ray was placed under arrest and transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
  • Deputy Kreitlow investigated a grand theft on Ashley Hall Road. Complainant reported his moped being stolen some time overnight. Complainant advised both the bike lock and padlock had been cut, which were securing the moped to the stairs on his front porch. Case has been forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Cordoba responded to a suspicious vehicle at the intersection of Hickory Avenue and Cottonwood Drive. During this incident, it was discovered the tag that was attached to the motorcycle had been replaced with a newer tag with a deceased registered owner, and the driver of the motorcycle was nowhere to be found. Due to the location of the motorcycle and the aforementioned information, the motorcycle was towed. Investigation continuing.
  • Complainant reported her vehicle being broken into while at Wakulla Springs State Park, advising when she got to the park, she unloaded the items they needed for the day and had a spare key fob in a purse which was left in the vehicle during their stay at the springs. Complainant advised she was unaware of the safety feature associated with the vehicle which detected the spare key and it automatically unlocked the vehicle. Complainant advised the only thing she noticed missing was the Nintendo Switch which had been placed in between the front seats. Case forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.

TUESday, JuLY 1

  • Deputy Kittrell responded to Triangle Petro at 2616 Coastal Hwy. in reference to a battery complaint. Contact was made with Raven Harris, who advised he was attacked by Austin Clay Cruse and Robert Lindsey near the old crab shack at 1608 Coastal Hwy. Harris advised he was approached by the two subjects, who arrived in a white Nissan Altima. Harris said Lindsey began confronting him over money he owed him. An argument ensued and Lindsey attempted to strike Harris. During the confrontation, Austin Clay Cruse struck Harris with the front of the vehicle, Harris landed on the front hood of the vehicle and fell to the ground shortly afterward. After the vehicle made contact with Harris, he then observed Cruse exiting the vehicle with a black and silver Smith & Wesson pistol in his hand. Harris eventually separated himself from both parties and was transported to the Triangle Petro to report the incident. Contact was made with the other parties in the suspect vehicle on Floyd Gray Road shortly after Harris arrived at the Petro and observed the vehicle entering the parking lot. Both parties were detained and read their Miranda Warnings. Witnesses on scene corroborated Harris’ statement and a large portion of the hood of the vehicle was observed, resembling someone landing on the area. Debris was located on the majority of the vehicle and the hood was the only area of the vehicle that appeared disturbed. Due to the aforementioned, Cruse was placed under arrest for Aggravated Battery and Display of Firearm During Felony; and was subsequently transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
  • Deputy Smith responded to Walmart in reference to a delayed retail theft. Contact was made with a loss prevention officer who reported observing a white female enter the business on June 29. The female appeared to behave suspiciously as she made her way to the sporting goods section. Loss prevention attempted to keep an eye on the subject, but was summoned to a different area of the store, where he lost sight of her. On today’s date, he reviewed video surveillance from the previous day and sales records. Upon review, the loss prevention officer discovered the unknown female exited the business via the garden section with $225.46 of stolen items. The female passed all points of sale and fled the scene in a red/maroon SUV. Case forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Marshall responded to a theft call on Bostic Pelt in reference to a theft. Complainant reported someone had come onto his property sometime during the night/early morning and stole some firewood he had stacked up in his yard. Complainant stated he was missing 15-20 pieces of oak wood. Investigation continuing.
  • Deputy Grove responded to the Sheriff’s Office lobby for a reported theft. Complainant reported her vehicle being broken into and medication stolen on June 28 while she was shopping at the Dollar General located at 1885 Crawfordville Highway. Investigation continuing.

WEDNESday, JuLY 2

  • Deputy Sullivan responded to Saralan Garden Drive and made contact with a resident who reported discovering several of his entry doors to the residence appeared to have been damaged. The resident had a female suspect known to him in this case. Investigation continuing by Patrol.
  • Deputy Sullivan made contact with a citizen on Lawhon Mill Road who reported receiving an online order for the fabrication of a gate and obtained a deposit. The citizen stated he purchased the materials for the gate, and then discovered the customer retracted the deposit from his bank. Case forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Saba was conducting speed enforcement in the area of McMyers Lane, when he discovered a scooter shoved in the woodline. The VIN number was unreadable. The scooter was towed by rotation wrecker.
  • Deputy Sullivan responded the lobby and made contact with a citizen who reported an unknown person who identified themselves as an employee of FDIC stated her credit cards were compromised and to place them in her mailbox. The citizen stated her cards were taken from the mailbox and now she has unauthorized charges to her cards. Case forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.

THURSday, JuLY 3

  • Deputy Rivers responded to the front lobby and made contact with a complainant who reported someone opened an account with Talquin Electric using her information, and the account has accrued over $5,000 in fees and has now been forwarded to collections and is reflected on her credit report. Case forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Munroe responded to Walmart in reference to a delayed retail theft. On June 27 a male suspect stole approximately $69.31 worth of merchandise. The male has been identified and an arrest warrant is pending.
