Sopchoppy needs some rain! I see a burn ban on Wakulla County. It’s dry… we need some rain. Where are the April showers?
Well, Worm Gruntin’ was a success! We love our festival! It was a great year! Sopchoppy will be having more great events and I will try to keep yall in the know….
The Smithsonian Magazine put out an article about worm gruntin’ and the festival. The Smithsonian museum is the world’s largest museum and research complex. What an honor! Our little town has been featured on Dirty Jobs, CBS Morning Show and much more. Sopchoppy is a special place. You come to visit and it draws you back. Woods, water, easy living and great people. What a blessing to be from Sopchoppy.
Wednesday I was the DJ for the Wakulla Special Olympics. It was an awesome day. The sheriff, superintendent, WHS band, Cash & Woody from the radio, the War Eagle mascot and more. I love to see Wakulla support this event. It was so cool! I also saw several news outlets covering the event! Thank you all for making it awesome! It makes me feel good being a part of such a wonderful community!
Speaking of community: BattleBall was Saturday at the rec park. BattleBall is a softball tournament that is put on by Battle14 to raise money for people in our community. Battle14 is a faith-based nonprofit that really helps our community. If you’re looking for a nonprofit to donate to, this is the one! It reaches people, it spreads the word of God, and they help our people!
I got a text from a neighbor of a pic of a Yella fly! Looks like it has started…. If you’re new here… get ready! I have not had any issues with them yet. I have heard of some sightings… hopefully it won’t be bad this year. We shall see.
I got a worm gruntin video on Instagram that passed 11 million views recently. It’s crazy when you think about it. I mean Sopchoppy has a population around 500. It has gone viral on a few platforms.
