The Wakulla County Property Appraiser’s Office has a unique and historically decorated Christmas tree this year.

When Property Appraiser Ed Brimner was living out of state, he and wife Tina would buy the Wakulla County Historical Society’s Christmas ornaments each year. It was a small way of staying connected to home while they were away. He has since added to the collection by purchasing any they had missed.

The Brimners decided to decorate the office Christmas tree so that others could enjoy them as well now that they are home.

Since 2005, the historical society offers a new ornament each year to commemorate a historical place or building located in Wakulla each year.

This year’s ornament depicts Fort San Marcos in St. Marks, it shows the building at the confluence of the Wakulla and St. Marks rivers.
