FRIDAY, FEB. 14

  • Deputy Parker responded to 247 Mount Beasor Road along with Wakulla County Fire Rescue in response to a fully engulfed excavator. The owner advised while pulling out a tree stump the machine started to smoke and catch fire. WCFR extinguished the fire. The excavator was a total loss and valued at $80,000.
  • Deputy Williams responded to a residence on W.F. Magers Road in reference to a criminal mischief. Complainant reported construction has begun on the lot behind her residence, and while the heavy equipment was removing trees, they damaged her fence on the back of the property.
  • Deputy Parker and Sg.t Will responded a residence on Appaloosa Road in reference to loud music around 10:20 p.m. Upon arrival, they made contact with Kasey Matthew Hartman who told the Deputies he would “not being turning it down.” The decibel reader was deployed, and displayed a reading indicating the music level was in violation of a county ordinance. Hartman was issued a county ordnance citation. Additional callers called in with the same complaint. Deputy Parker responded to another residence in the vicinity where the resident advised this is an ongoing issue. The sheriff’s office has had several calls regarding this issue from the residents on Appaloosa Road since January of this year. Investigation ongoing.
  • Deputy Bennett responded to a residence on Jer-be-lou Boulevard in reference to a phone being taken. A possible suspect has been identified. Case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.

SATURDAY, FEB. 15

  • Deputy Sammons responded to a residence on Stephen-Donaldson Road in reference to a burglary. Contact was made with the complainant who reported he checks on the residence and property for the owner who lived out of state, and observed the refrigerator inside the residence missing. Case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.

SUNDAY, FEB. 16

  • Deputy Williams responded to Walker Creek Drive in reference to a theft. Complainant reported a male known to her took her laptop, and refused to give it back. Case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputies responded to Beaty Taff Drive in reference to Gerald Lawayne Brooks pulling a gun on another male and threatening to shoot him. Brooks left the scene prior to the deputies’ arrival. Shortly after, Deputies Bennett and Williams located the vehicle Gerald Brooks was operating and conducted a felony traffic stop. Brooks was arrested and charged with Improper Exhibition of a Firearm. During the inventory of the vehicle, multiple firearms and methamphetamine were located. Subsequently, Brooks was also charged with Possession of Methamphetamine under 10g. Brooks was transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
  • Deputy Parker responded to a residence on Imaginary Lane in reference to a basketball hoop being damage. A possible suspect has been identified. Case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Williams responded to a residence on Elizabeth Street in reference to tools being stolen. A possible suspect has been identified. Case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Kittrell responded to a residence on J.R. Milton Road, in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant who advised on Feb. 8, he and his cousin were working on some vehicles at his residence. After going to Auto Zone to retrieve some parts, he returned to his residence and placed his wallet on one of his tool boxes. Shortly thereafter, the complainant’s wallet was missing. Case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.

MONDAY, FEB. 17

  • Deputy Kittrell investigated a theft at the Circle K located at 2361 Crawfordville Highway. The management reported two bottles of wine valued at approximately $12. Case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.

TUESDAY, FEB. 18

  • Deputies Kreitlow and Godwin investigated a theft at the Circle K located at 2361 Crawfordville Highway. The investigation revealed a white male had stolen several items from the store and was identified as the suspect in a prior retail theft on Feb. 17. Deputies positively identified the suspect as Christopher McGraw Key, and located him on Sue Lane. Key was arrested and charged with Petit Theft and transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
  • Deputy Trujillo conducted a traffic stop on Gertie Brown Road. A records check revealed the license of driver, Gregg Harris, was suspended. Harris was arrested and charged with Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (DWLSR) and was transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
  • Deputy Post responded to 2150 Curtis Mill Road in Sopchoppy in reference to a criminal mischief. The investigation revealed an unknown suspect damaged wires to the church located on the property.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 19

  • Deputy Kittrell responded to Walmart in reference to a theft complaint. Contact was made with the Asset Protection officer who advised at approximately 6:05 a.m. that day, she observed a white male enter the store and remove an Artic cooler from the hunting/fishing department via the store’s surveillance video. The suspect is then seen exiting the store with the cooler, passing all points of sale. The suspect is then seen fleeing the scene in a white Ford SUV. Case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Rivers conducted a traffic stop at the Burger King in Crawfordville. It was determined the driver, Robert Joseph Newton, did not have a valid license. Newton was placed under arrest for DWLSR. During the stop a small amount of methamphetamine was recovered. Subsequently, Newton was also charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Equipment Possession and was transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.

THURSDAY, FEB. 20

  • Deputy Williams responded to Wal-Mart)in reference to a retail theft. Two unknown males were seen taking multiple items valued at $281.53 and leaving the last point of sale. Case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputies Parker and Williams responded to a residence on Bay Pine Drive in reference to Edgar Dalbert Strange on the property after being issued a trespass warning. Upon arrival to the scene, Strange was observed walking on the Bay Pine Drive driveway to the road. Deputies detained Strange where he admitted to having methamphetamine on him. Strange was arrested for trespass after warning and possession of methamphetamine and transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.
  • Deputy Bennett responded to a residence on Monticello Avenue. Complainant reported a person known to him came into his house and stole some of his property. Case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
