Friday, APRIL 4

  • Deputy Post responded to Juniper Drive in reference to a fraud. Complainant discovered someone used her Social Security number to collect wages, this was discovered when she questioned why her income tax return had not been deposited into her account. Case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Post responded to Dixie Drive in reference to a Theft and Criminal Mischief. Complainant reported several vehicles on his property had been spray painted, and tools, cash, cooking items, and a muzzleloader rifle had been stolen. Complainant estimated all items stolen and destroyed had an approximate value of $23,000. Case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Godwin responded to Walmart in reference to a Retail Theft. Asset Protection reported an unknown subject passed the last point of sale without purchase with items totaling approximately $1,300. Asset Protection was able to retrieve the property before the suspect exited the parking lot. Case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Munroe responded to the Sheriff’s Office lobby in reference to Lost/Stolen Property. A citizen reported her driver’s license lost/stolen while on vacation in New Orleans.
  • Deputy Munroe responded to the Sheriff’s Office lobby in reference to Lost/Stolen Property. A citizen reported her driver’s license lost/stolen at Rocky’s convenience store.

Saturday, APRIL 5

  • Deputy Sullivan responded to a Retail Theft at Walmart, and made contact with Walmart Asset Protection who reported an unknown subject had entered the store and grabbed a shopping cart. It was advised the subject placed several items in his cart as he walked around the store, and proceeded to check out only paying for some of the items. The subject then exited the store passing all final points of sale, failing to pay for the remaining items. Case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Saba responded to a Theft on Emmett Whaley Road where contact was made with a citizen who reported $40 being stolen. The citizen stated he attempted to purchase an item from Facebook Marketplace and after sending the money, the subject deleted his profile and he was unable to be contacted again. The citizen advised he never received the item he paid for. Case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Munroe responded to Bernard Avenue in reference to Found Property. Complainant reported finding a shotgun while clearing the property. The shotgun was completely destroyed and had been there for many years. The shotgun was collected and turned into property and evidence.

Sunday, APRIL 6

  • Deputy Surrette conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Woodville Highway and Corkey Street. Upon making contact with the driver, Joseph Dean Hicks, it was discovered that his license had been suspended and Hicks was aware of the suspension. Hicks was subsequently arrested for Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (DWLSR) with knowledge and was transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility.

Monday, APRIL 7

  • Deputies Buckhalt and Carroll conducted a traffic stop on a black Toyota Tundra in the area of Shadeville Road and Carmen Rocio Lane. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Omer Junior Allbaugh III. A license check confirmed Allbaugh’s license was suspended, and he was pulled over on April 5 and issued a warning for a separate issue and was also informed of his license status during this incident. Subsequently, Allbaugh was arrested and transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility without incident.
  • Deputy Bennett responded to a residence on Greyes Place Drive in reference to a possible fraud. The resident reported she paid what she thought was payments to her student loan company, and later realized her student loan company stated there was no payments to her account. as the resident sustained a loss of $899. Case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Williams responded to Walmart in reference to a retail theft. Asset protection reported two males walked into Walmart, grabbed a total of $503.92 worth of merchandise, then proceeded to leave the store without paying. Case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.

Tuesday, APRIL 8

  • Deputy Sammons responded to Old Courthouse Way in reference to a theft complaint and made contact with the complainant who reported she recently rented a vehicle from Enterprise in Leon for a business trip. At some point during the trip, her purse fell over and the contents of the purse fell inside the vehicle. Complainant returned the vehicle to Enterprise on April 4. On April 5, complainant received an alert from her banking institution in reference to unauthorized charges on her business debit card so she immediately contacted her bank to cancel the card.
  • Lt. Spence responded to Walmart in reference to a prior theft complaint. Contact was made with Asset Protection who reported observing a female enter the business at approximately 1:30 p.m. and grab a shopping cart, then was observed taking a hot plate from the deli and multiple bras from the woman’s section. Asset protection further reported observing the female retrieving a black bag from the accessories section, and realized she was being monitored and made her way to the self-checkout area where she didn’t scan the items in her cart. The suspect proceeded to pass all points of sale. The total loss of items is $59.35. Case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.

Wednesday, APRIL 9

  • Deputy Bennett responded to Walmart reference a delayed retail theft. Asset protection reported the suspect stole $94.69 worth of merchandise, and a possible suspect has been identified. Case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Bennett responded to the Sheriff’s Office lobby where he met with a citizen reporting being scammed. The citizen reported he received a call to bail his son out of jail and after paying $950 he realized it was a scam. Case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.

Thursday, APRIL 10

  • Deputy Weeks responded to Fontane Circle in reference to a Theft. A resident reported two subjects on his property stealing copper from his yard. The resident was able to capture two people on his game camera. Case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Munroe responded to Cedar Island Way in reference to Found Property. A UPS driver discovered a firearm in the middle of the roadway. The firearm was placed into property and evidence for safe keeping until an owner can be identified.

Friday, APRIL 11

  • Deputy Sullivan responded to Centennial Bank in reference to fraudulent activity. Complainants reported a subject had called them claiming to be from the Sheriff’s Office and they would be arrested if they did not pay citations. The complainants were scammed out of approximately $6,000 before reporting this incident. Case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Guzman conducted a traffic stop on Coastal Highway on a blue Dodge Ram truck. During the investigation it was discovered the truck had been reported stolen out of Lake City. It was also discovered that both the driver and passenger had outstanding felony warrants from outside of the county, and methamphetamine was discovered in the vehicle. Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility. The vehicle was towed to the WCSO impound yard. Case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Deputy Saba responded to Walmart in reference to a possible fraud. Deputy Saba made contact with Edsel Lamar Byrd who reported that while incarcerated, an unknown person attempted to open bank accounts in his name. During the investigation it was discovered that Byrd had active warrants from another state. The warrants were confirmed and Byrd was placed under arrest and transported to the Wakulla County Detention Facility. Criminal case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
