I was reading about Halloween. I didn’t realize it was almost here until I went to the Family Dollar store and it is very much celebrated on the evening before the Christian Holy Day of All Hallows Day, Nov. 1.
So Halloween is always celebrated on Oct. 31.
Halloween’s start can be traced to an ancient festival called Samhain (pronounced Sow-in, which rhymes with Cow-in) meaning summer end.
Many people celebrate Halloween by carving or painting pumpkins, roasting pumpkin seeds, and wearing a Halloween costume. Everyone loves dressing up for Halloween. Apple bobbing was my favorite.
On Sunday, Oct. 26, at 4 p.m., Skipper Temple Church will be celebrating 37 years of the pastor and church. Everyone is welcome.
