This report is for activity October 3rd to October 10th. There were 1,237 total calls for service during the week.

FRIday, OCt. 3

  • Deputy Meredith Sullivan and Lt. Anthony Paul responded to the 3500 block of Spring Creek Highway in reference to shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, contact was made with an individual. Located near that person’s vehicle were several spent shell casings, and an AK-47 style firearm was located in the backseat of the vehicle. Suspected Cocaine and Fentanyl were also located within the vehicle. He was taken into custody and transported to the Wakulla County Jail without incident.

SATURday, OCt. 4

  • A citizen awoke and discovered his truck missing. He advised a subject who was identified took the truck without his permission. The vehicle was entered into NCIC/FCIC as stolen, which was later located at Wal,art. The driver and the passenger were taken into custody. Further investigation revealed both subjects had just stolen multiple clothing items from Walmart. It was also discovered the driver had 17 active warrants out of Leon County and the passenger had a warrant out of Leon County as well.
  • A citizen received an email advising he had ordered a pair of shoes. He stated his information and email were correct, however the address and card number was not his. The address of where the package is being shipped is on Northwood Road. A check of the residence was conducted however it yielded negative results. Case forwarded to Criminal Investigations Division.
  • A citizen was cleaning out their residence and discovered what appeared to be drug paraphernalia. Suspected marijuana and paraphernalia were collected and turned in for destruction.

SUNday, OCt. 5

  • Deputy Meredith Sullivan responded to Skybox bar and grill in reference to the rear entry door being partially forced open, but the suspect was unable to make entry. Crime Scene Tech Tatum Price arrived and processed the scene and CID was notified. There are no suspects identified at this time. Case forwarded to CID.
  • Sgt. Heather Will responded to Dogwood Drive in reference to a fraud. Upon arrival, a citizen advised $800 had been withdrawn from his account by someone using his mother’s information. This unknown individual spelled his mother’s name wrong and provided an incorrect signature. Case forwarded to CID
  • The Consolidated Dispatch Agency (CDA) contacted Wakulla Dispatch advising a stolen vehicle out of their county had just entered into Wakulla County. Sgt. Heather Will located the vehicle heading southbound on Crawfordville Hwy. A felony stop was conducted by Sgt. Will and Deputy Jeremiah Post. The driver was placed under arrest and CDA was notified.

MONday, OCt. 6

  • Dollar General Manager reported an unknown white male enter the store on Oct. 5. She advised the male went to the medicine aisle and put an unknown item in his clothing. She went on to say the male then left the store without paying. The manager advised the male subject was a regular and wanted him trespassed when located or if he returned to the store.
  • A citizen reported concerns regarding possible identity theft. The citizen had received a letter claiming that his address had been changed and was provided a phone number to call. He advised he called the number but did not provide any information. He further advised that he checked his credit report and all bank cards and nothing seemed amiss. This report was documented for informational purposes
  • Deputy Kory Smith conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration. Upon making contact with the driver, Deputy Smith observed a THC vape pen in plain view. A probable cause search was conducted which yielded no further results. The vape was collected and submitted to property and evidence for destruction.

TUESday, OCt. 7

  • A citizen reported someone had hacked into his phone line accounts and attempted to add more lines. He advised the additional lines were denied by his phone company. At this time, he was not at any monetary or property loss but wanted this incident documented.
  • Deputy Aimee Hoagland responded to the sheriff’s office in reference to a citizen contact. Contact was made with the individual who advised a former friend attempted to run her vehicle off the road near Oak Street. She stated she observed this person traveling in his vehicle towards her vehicle. As their vehicle made it closer, she stated he swerved towards her vehicle causing her to swerve off the roadway temporarily. The reporting person advised there was no vehicle damage and she wished to have the incident documented.

WEDNESday, OCt. 8

  • Deputy Dylan Buckhalt and Deputy Austin Rivers responded to Hardees in reference to a male passing a fake $50 bill that was reportedly motion picture currency to obtain a drink and $48 in change. The name of the subject was determined based on video surveillance. Contact was made with the subject and post Miranda admitted to the allegations. He was arrested.
  • Deputies responded to River Sink Road reference 80-year-old female missing after an hour walk. After an initial search of the property and the immediate area was done, on call CID, TART Drone unit, TART, Wakulla Fire Rescue, Wakulla Correctional Institute K9, and Leon County Sheriff’s Office Air One were contacted. An extensive search of the area on ground and air was done but unfortunately unsuccessful in locating her. A region one BOLO was sent and the woman was added as a missing person in NCIC. NOTE: On Friday Oct. 10 a search was conducted that resulted in finding the missing individual alive.

THURSday, OCt. 9

  • Deputy Zachary Godwin and Deputy Austin Rivers responded to Kirkland Drive in reference to a citizen reporting she saw two white males near an abandoned house. Contact was made with the two subjects who upon seeing law enforcement fled on foot. Due to the possibility of a burglary, Deputy Godwin gave verbal commands and pointed his firearm at them advising them to get on the ground. After the show of Deputy Godwin’s firearm, the subjects stopped running and laid on the ground. The burglary was subsequently determined to be unfounded.

FRIday, OCt. 10

  • Deputy Zachary Godwin conducted a traffic stop for attached tag not assigned. The driver admitted to placing a Florida tag on the vehicle which was later found out to be stolen out of this agency. Detective Tiffany Spears arrived on scene questioning the driver and two passengers. Subsequently, the driver was placed under arrest.
  • Deputy Dustin Saba responded to Mississippi Avenue in reference to a theft complaint. Contact was made with the reporting person who advised she recently moved out of her former residence. She was arrested on Oct. 1. Since her release, she requested a standby at the former residence to retrieve her belongings. She still believes some of her items are located at the former residence and will arrange another standby. She signed an Affidavit for Non-Prosecution and will pursue charges if she is unable to gather the remainder of her belongings.
