Reporting from Sopchoppy, Florida! I have had a crazy busy month. Jamboree, Sopchoppy Depot Days and Car Parade, Rotary Club’s Boots & Bingo, and the Panacea Blue Crab Festival. My goodness what a month full of exciting events!
I got cool footage and photos available on my Corey Benedict Facebook page. Also DJ Butch on TikTok.
Speaking of social media the Sopchoppy page is still growing. I try to keep it about Sopchoppy and local stuff. Not a page full of advertisements or nonsense. Follow the Sopchoppy page on Facebook for news, history and more.
The Community Market is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be vendors with homemade and homegrown goods. The Depot museum will be open. A food truck and children’s activities. If you would like to be a vendor contact Discover Sopchoppy at Discoversopchoppy@gmail.com
OK, enough with the business! Do you know Sopchoppy has been more than just a small town for me? It has been a family. Growing up in Sopchoppy I saw people help one another. Love one another. Take care of one another. Watch out for each other and their kids.
They say it takes a village and that is very true. Sopchoppy is a family and has been that way for many years. If you are new here… or visiting, this is how we roll. We welcome you.
Please respect our city and keep it beautiful. Don’t litter. Drive slow. Stop at stop signs. Watch out for kids, pets, golf carts and scooters. Wave at your neighbors and say hello.
Manners are still in style In Sopchoppy. Southern charm and hospitality is in full effect!
I love my city and we are blessed to be here.
Keep it safe, beautiful and amazing.
