Special to The Sun

Meredith Woodrum Snowden, co-owner of The Wakulla Sun and wife of Sun editor and publisher William Snowden, was presented with an Above & Beyond award by News Service of Florida on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Snowden is Director of Policy at Floridian Partners, a lobbying and consulting firm. Her successful representation spans clients in diverse industries, from insurance and finance to nonprofits, as well as matters both legislative and regulatory.
Snowden earned an English degree from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia. She began her public policy career in the Florida House of Representatives, serving as a legislative analyst for over a decade. Transferring to the private sector, she was the vice president of government affairs at Leath Consulting, where she also chaired the Insurance Practice Group before joining Floridian earlier this year.
Most meaningful for Snowden, she says, is “securing critical funding for impactful initiatives,” many in greater Sarasota. These include the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Clinic at the Florida Center for Early Childhood, Loveland Center’s inclusive residential communities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and a 24-hour intake center at Lightshare Behavioral Wellness & Recovery.
