Calendar of events for the week of June 25

Thursday, June 25

  • The Rotary Club of Wakulla County meets at the TSC Wakulla Center at 8:30 a.m. on Thursdays. (No meeting this week)
  • The VFW Auxiliary Bingo Night will be held at 7 p.m. at 475 Arran Road in Crawfordville, every Thursday. There are concessions and raffles.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 6:30 p.m. every Thursday at 54 Ochlockonee St.

Friday, June 26

  • VFW Post 4538 Salure to Our Veterans will be held at the community center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Open to all veterans and their families – medical and VA services, financial services, counseling and support and more.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous meets at noon and 8 p.m. every Friday at 54 Ochlockonee St.

Saturday, June 27

  • Preparedness Expo, hosted by Wakulla Emergency Management, will be held at the new Emergency Operations Center from 9 a.m. to noon. Visit with vendors and get a sneak peek of the new EOC facility, scheduled to open in July.
  • Radio Field Day, a test of the preparedness of amateur radio operators, will be held during the day. To observe or participate, contact Ken Fields at w4kef1@gmail.com.

  • St. Marks Community Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. Marks.
  • Pride in the House Party will be held at Palaver Tree Theater at 6 p.m., hosted by Wakulla’s own Alexis Montgomery. Tickets are $15 or two for $25.

Sunday, June 28

  • Wakulla Giving Hands regular weekly food giveaway is held every Sunday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the facility across from Medart Elementary on Highway 98..
  • Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at 54 Ochlockonee St.

Monday, June 29

  • The Wakulla Respite Program is available for anyone with memory impairment at no cost from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lake Ellen Baptist Church every Monday.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 6 p.m. for women and 8 p.m. for men every Monday at 54 Ochlockonee St.
  • Gentle Yoga and Stetching Class with Margaret every Monday at 11 a.m. First Baptist Church CLC Building in Crawfordville. Bring a mat.
  • Line Dancing Class is held at Wakulla Dance Academy every Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. $5 per person. Wear dance shoes or tennis shoes.

Tuesday, June 30

  • Sopchoppy community dinner is held every week at the Towles House at 6:30 p.m.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at 54 Ochlockonee St.

Wednesday, July 1

  • Alcoholics Anonymous meets at noon and 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday at 54 Ochlockonee St.

  • America250! is being celebrated locally with a ceremony to exhume a time capsule buried in 1976 and bury a capsule to be opened in 2076. The event will be held on the courthouse grounds beginning at 5:30 p.m.
