Thursday, July 30

  • Free school physicals, arranged through FRESH Be a Hero to Our Heroes, will be offered by Valerie Russell, ARPN, FNP, at Panhandle Primary Care, 36 Ochlockonee St., from 4 to 6:30 p.m. For more information, contact Kenny Manning at (850) 545-5982. Also Tuesday, Aug. 4.
  • The Rotary Club of Wakulla County meets at the TSC Wakulla Center at 8:30 a.m. on Thursdays.
  • Line dancing is 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Women’s Club. 6:30 to 8 for beginners. $10.
  • The VFW Auxiliary Bingo Night will be held at 7 p.m. at 475 Arran Road in Crawfordville, every Thursday. There are concessions and raffles.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 6:30 p.m. every Thursday at 54 Ochlockonee St.

Friday, July 31

  • A Night at Hogwarts will be held at the public library beginning at 6 p.m.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous meets at noon and 8 p.m. every Friday at 54 Ochlockonee St.

Saturday, August 1

  • FRESH Back to School backpack giveaway will hold a drive-thru distribution at Sopchoppy City Hall from 9 a.m. to noon. Next week, on Aug. 8, the big giveaway will be held at the community center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Thessalonia Missionary Baptist Church will hold a school backpack giveaway at Hudson Park beginning at noon.
  • Back to School Giveaway, hosted by Dr. Patricia Warren Hightower and LaTasha McDowell, will be giving away school supplies and offering barbecue and music at the Keller Williams Town and Country office, 2851 Crawfordville Hwy., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sunday, August 2

  • Backpack Giveaway, sponsored by the McGrew League, will be held at the Wakulla Community Center from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be backpacks for students, nail service for girls and haircuts for boys.
  • Wakulla Giving Hands food giveaway every Sunday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the facility across from Medart Elementary on Highway 98. Line up begins at 11 a.m.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at 54 Ochlockonee St.

Monday, August 3

  • Wakulla County Commission meets at 6 p.m. in the commission chambers.
  • The Wakulla Respite Program is available for anyone with memory impairment at no cost from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lake Ellen Baptist Church every Monday.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 6 p.m. for women and 8 p.m. for men every Monday at 54 Ochlockonee St.
  • Gentle Yoga and Stetching Class with Margaret every Monday at 11 a.m. First Baptist Church CLC Building in Crawfordville. Bring a mat.

  • Wakulla Sun will host candidates for Congress District 2 at the library meeting room at 6 p.m.
