Workshop on caring for loved ones with dementia

A free workshop will be offered on behavioral skills training and hospice services in caring for loved ones with dementia at Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church #2 on Saturday, Feb. 3.


Key topics at the workshop will be

  • Caregiver skills building and self-care
  • Relaxation and calming prayer
  • Dementia prevention strategies
  • Spiritual, emotional and physical benefits of hospice care
  • Advanced care planning for loved ones with dementia
    The event will be held at the church, located at 8 Spring Creek Highway, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

    Presenters include Elder Sam Hayes of Mount Olive; Lenny Marshall, director of diversity, equity and inclusion at Big Bend Hospice; Tomeka Norton-Brown, ACTS2 Project Coordinator, and Robert Glueckauf, ACTS2 Project Director.
