About 50 people were on hand for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial observance held by the Wakulla County Christian Coalition at the courthouse monument on Monday, Jan. 15. Gwendolyn Staten, above, acted as master of ceremonies for the event.
Sgt. Major (retired) Derrick Franklin, now pastor at Greater Mount Zion Church, was speaker, and he urged attendees to follow Dr. King’s lead and recommit themselves to justice, equality and unity.
