Jerry Boler has yet again set up a magnificent Christmas light display in front of his home at 6 Cardinal Ct. in Songbird, complete with a radio station and a photo booth where anyone can come and get pictures with Santa, the Grinch, or Olaf the snowman.

Gift from the North Pole assists 300 people at event

Wakulla Giving Hands partnered with the Less Fortunate Still Matters Foundation and Mack’s Country Meats to provide A Gift from The North Pole to families in Wakulla County on Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Wakulla Senior Citizens Center.
A Gift from The North Pole included toys and books for children, clothes and personal hygiene items as well as music, dancing, popcorn, and sno-cones were also included for approximately 300 people who did not let the weekend’s bad weather hinder their holiday fun.

Gingerbread House contest donation to Operation Santa

Entries in the gingerbread house contest at Capital City Bank lead to a donation of $300 to Operation Santa. On Monday, Mary Wallace of Capital City Home Loan presented a check to Denise Colangelo of Operation Santa along with Heather Ryback of Ryback Realty. Eleven businesses participated, including Wakulla Springs Lodge, Zaxbys, Donkeys, Assini’s, Sign Gypsys, Barns Spirits, Rybak Realty, and Capital City Home Loan. The winner for 2023 was Waypoint Realty with a beach-themed gingerbread house. (Photo by Legion Taylor)

Remembrance service at Family Funeral Home

Staff Report

A Big Bend Hospice Tree of Remembrance service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 14, at Family Funeral Home Harvey-Young Chapel from 5 to 6 p.m.
Tree ornaments will be available to buy in memory of loved ones.
Pastor BB Barwick will speak, and there will be music by Pastor Barwick and group from Panacea Full Gospel, Kathy Lawhon and group from Crawfordville First Baptist, Brody Castle from Lake Ellen Baptist, a group from Sopchoppy Southern Baptist, Lori White from River of Life, Laura Hudson, andTom Roberts and Kimberly Crum.
Food will be available.
