Sopchoppy News

By DJ BUTCH

Hello from the beautiful small town of Sopchoppy.
We finally got some rain…. It has also been hot. Stay hydrated.
If you enjoy my Sopchoppy news you should follow me online. I post videos and pictures from my adventures. I’m about to take my online content to another level… Got a trip planned coming up! I had to re-arrange two booked parties to make it happen! But I couldn’t miss this opportunity! I appreciate all the follows, subscribers and even the watchers.. it all helps the engagement. But it would be cool if you drop a positive comment or hit follow…..
I recently went fishing with ole P and someone found a Megalodon shark tooth. Florida used to be under water so we sometimes find cool stuff…. The Megalodon was the largest shark to ever live, a massive, extinct apex predator that lived years ago, preying on whales and large marine mammals in warm, coastal waters. Size: Up to 60 feet long (or more, with some estimates up to 80 feet), weighing up to 50 tons. We tore the bream up too…
We also recorded a song about bream fishing. It features guitar by Jason Cupp. Beat by me and verses from from P and me. It is available on streaming services and is a good fishing song. Check it out!
I also went out LY fishing with Captain Eric aka the Shrimp Pimp. He gets that nickname because he has been the shrimper in this area for years. While out on the water with Captain Eric aka the Shrimp Pimp I noticed something real cool. Most all the fishermen know each other. Some target different fish, some the same, some are crabbers, but they are all friends. They will meet on the water and talk about where the fish are or how good or bad fishing has been. They work together! They don’t compete… matter of fact one boat started netting LYs while they were near by…. Then they unloaded the fish onto Eric’s boat. Just helping him get his goal for the day. They were targeting mullet that day.
I thought that was really cool and I think a lot of people could learn from this. My adventures teach me more than just the outdoors….
I learned that a fisherman’s life is hard work but they have a beautiful office view, a family on the water and a lifetime of memories. Every day is another adventure! Thank the Lord for another beautiful day!
I won’t be DJing second Friday at Low Tide this month. I’m going on a lil trip….I will be DJing August 28 since I missed my night… put it on ya calendar.
I also had to get Dj Dannyboy to cover the Bingo on that Saturday. (Thanx) I just couldn’t miss this opportunity y’all….. I’m going to bring you some epic content.
Mark your calendars for Depot Days! September 12th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Classic car parade, Big Wheel race, vendors, food and fun! I will be hosting the event and playing the best oldie goldies.
Sending you all love from Sopchoppy!
