Sopchoppy get ready for Depot days September 12 (9-1) in downtown Sopchoppy! Big wheel race, classic car parade, food and vendors! I will be playing the oldie goldie classics and hosting the event.I really love the classic cars! Special thank you to Dave aka DTB for helping make this event awesome. This will be a great time. Bring the family and come on out and enjoy another great festival.
We have been getting rain lately and we really needed it. The weather wasn’t as hot with the overcast but it is still hot!
Duke Energy came and trimmed the trees around the power lines. I see we have some water in the ditches finally. I wonder if the crawfish have came back.
I recently went to the St. Pete Open. It is the world’s largest spearfishing tournament. Tyler and Jesse from Trident restaurant entered with Matt and Kade. Tyler and Jesse are from Sopchoppy. JF and I were just going for fun. These guys are diving past 80 miles offshore in water up to 200 feet deep. I love fishing but I like to be on the boat…haha. We had a blast! Jesse won a spear gun. We also celebrated my birthday. We enjoyed St. Pete and we also visited Hard Rock in Tampa. It was an absolute amazing adventure. I saw dolphins and all kinds of fish. We had a blast.
I heard we have a new business opening in Sopchoppy! The Corner marsh with home decor and more. Also Marsh and mane hair co. They will have a grand opening the same day as the Depot Days festival on September 12 from 9am-1pm.
Please if you travel to Sopchoppy stop at our stop signs. A lot of people don’t stop and we have a lot of walkers, pets, golf carts, kids, scooters, skateboarders and bikes. Please don’t speed and always stop. Also don’t throw trash out! We have a beautiful city and we love visitors but please have respect and keep our city beautiful.
I had a meeting at the historic Sopchoppy School recently. A lot of amazing things are happening! New floors, pictures going up. New events! I’m so happy!
I fought for this school! I spoke at the city meeting! I love my school! My mom went to high school there, I went to elementary and my son went to pre-K. This is part of our charm, our history! This will continue to bring joy, amazing events and revenue. Some couldn’t see the vision but I’m glad it is being used and upgraded.
Some things in life are worth fighting for. I love Sopchoppy! I love my school! I’ll always be a Yellow Jacket. My hometown and my heart! Til next time.. sending you all love and good vibes from Sopchop!
