I’ve been fishing lately and it has been a lot of fun. I caught a few bream and a bass. The yella flies are definitely on the river. They have not been too bad In Sopchoppy but on that river is different. Be safe if ya go near the water….
I know a lot of people have heard about the forest fire. I heard they have it under control. I saw a lot of smoke coming back from fishing Thursday. I hope they get it out and keep it out. I know it is pretty dry with not much rain.
I know I have said this in the Sopchoppy news before but please stop at the stop signs. Too many people are running the stop signs. We have people walking, golf carts, pets. Slow down and stop.
The county has taken over the sewer billing for Sopchoppy. You still get a water bill from Sopchoppy but sewer will be a different bill from the county. More information on that available online.
The Loafers Bench sold to new owners. It appears it will be a hair salon in the back and have other home decor items in the front for sale. The Loafers Bench has a long history In Sopchoppy.
In July an artist is coming to visit Sopchoppy from the UK. She wants to observe worm gruntin’ and is bringing microphones that pick up sound beyond human range. They have worm charming festivals and competitions in the UK. This should be an interesting adventure and I look forward to making videos and documenting this.
July 3rd I will be DJing at Low Tide under Trident. They always have an amazing fireworks show. The food, view, service and all is awesome!
The Sopchoppy 4th of July starts later this year. It starts at 4 p.m. this year. I will not be performing this year but they will have some good entertainment for you like Sterling Miller and also the Rick Ott Band. They will also have the traditional fireworks at sundown.
