County commissioners commit to moving forward with improvements

After years of battles over the fate of the Wakulla County Airport, a grass airstrip between Panacea and Ochlockonee Bay, the county commission voted unanimously last week to sign a letter to the state committing to own and maintain the airport.

The event brought together over 425 school board members, superintendents, and educational leaders from across the state for four days of collaboration, learning, and inspiration under the theme “Game Changers.”

Gumphrey named to Dean’s List at Alabama

Georgia Gumphrey of Crawfordville was named to The University of Alabama Presidents List for Fall Semester 2024.
A total of 14,631 students enrolled Fall Semester 2024 at The University of Alabama were named to the dean’s list with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the president’s list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s). These driven students are making waves across UA’s more than 70 undergraduate programs and 12 colleges and schools.
The UA dean’s and president’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Cook named to Dean’s List at VSU

Valdosta State University congratulates Kendal Cook of Crawfordville for earning a spot on the Fall 2024 Dean’s List.
Dean’s List honors are reserved for the highest achieving students at VSU. Cook is one of more than 2,000 distinguished and accomplished students recognized for exemplifying excellence in the attainment of their educational goals.
To qualify for Dean’s List at VSU, students must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher.
